Coach Mike Munchak said using more no-huddle offense is "maybe something we have to do more." "I think there's a spot in the game where if a guy gets a feel - and Jake [Locker] gets it - we stay with it," Munchak said. "Maybe that's something we have to do more." Locker completed 7-of-8 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown on the one drive the Titans used the no-huddle last week. Tennessee went three-and-out on its seven other second-half possessions. The Titans want to be a run-first team with Chris Johnson, so we wouldn't expect them to go no-huddle too much.

Jake Locker completed 12-of-20 passes for 116 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in Saturday's preseason game against the Bengals. The yards per attempt (5.8) is nothing to call home about, but Locker was hurt by his pass catchers muffing 2-3 catchable balls. Locker also watched from the sideline as backup Ryan Fitzpatrick diced up the Bengals' second team, completing 9-of-13 passes for 136 yards and two scores. Through two preseason games, Locker is 19-of-31 for 174 yards, no scores and no picks.

The Titans "kept the handcuffs" on Jake Locker in Thursday night's preseason opener and it was by design, according to coach Mike Munchak. "We just took what they gave us and didn't force things that weren't there," Munchak said. "There will be plenty of opportunities to throw the ball down the field as we go into the next game." Locker finished 7-of-11 for just 58 yards (5.3 YPA) against the Redskins, and he was sacked twice and nearly intercepted once. It's a make-or-break year for Locker and the entire coaching staff.

Jake Locker completed 16-of-26 passes with three touchdowns at the Titans' intrasquad scrimmage Saturday. The numbers look good in paper, but the touchdowns are "inflated" because two came in goal-line scenarios. Locker reportedly "had a tough time early," and threw wide of TE Craig Stevens "on numerous occasions" before finally settling in. Locker's accuracy remains a glaring problem, and likely always will.

The Titans have been experimenting with Pistol formations in training camp. They also tinkered with this at spring practices. "It doesn't quite tip off what runs you can do when the back is offset," coach Mike Munchak said. "The offense has more options for what they can do." New OC Dowell Loggains has hinted at a run-based 2013 offense, and running out of the Pistol has been highly effective both at the college and pro levels by forcing defenders to be reactive rather than proactive, especially with a mobile QB at the controls.

A "major goal" for Titans OC Dowell Loggains is preventing Jake Locker from "feeling overwhelmed." That's third-year pro Jake Locker. Loggains' quote is the kind typically reserved for a rookie or first-year starter. It speaks to the Titans' lack of confidence in their would-be franchise quarterback's game. With the Titans poised to go run-heavy this season, the onus will be on Locker to slash his mistakes and improve his efficiency. Considering Locker's play even going back to his days in the Pac 12, it's going to be a tall order.

Jake Locker has "had his share of ups and downs" through the first few days of Titans camp. Locker started Sunday's practice 3-of-7 passing in team drills. He wound up finishing 10-of-17, and the Tennessean considered it his best practice so far. Lacking accuracy and still a major work in progress mechanically, Locker's passing volume is expected to be scaled back under new OC Dowell Loggains. He's likely to flirt with fantasy QB2 value, but won't be a reliable weekly scorer.
