Jake Locker (Lisfranc surgery) said he will be in a walking boot for another three months. It's another reminder of how serious a Lisfranc injury is. Maurice Jones-Drew and Santonio Holmes were two players that struggled to overcome the same injury this season. An inability to participate in the offseason program won't be a good thing for the annually inconsistent Locker.

Coach Mike Munchak stopped short Monday of endorsing Jake Locker (Lisfranc surgery, I.R.) as the Titans' 2014 quarterback. Munchak said he "still believes" in Locker moving forward, but "all things will be considered" when evaluating the future of Tennessee's quarterback position. Locker finished the regular season with an 8:4 TD-to-INT ratio as a passer with a career-best 60.7 completion rate. He still isn't enough of a finished product for Munchak to endorse as more than a 2014 competitor to start.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Titans aren't expected to pick up Jake Locker's $13 million club option in 2015. Locker has a minuscule $2.09 million salary for 2014, but teams exercising the fifth-year option for a top-ten draft pick have to pay him a salary equal to the NFL transition tag. The Titans are going to be in the market for a quarterback after the season. Locker can't stay healthy and has been up-and-down as a pro. Rapoport expects the Titans to go after Jay Cutler.

Jake Locker (Lisfranc surgery) is expected to require 5-6 months to "completely heal." Coach Mike Munchak believes Locker could be ready for the Titans' offseason program. "(Jake) heals a little different than other people, but we assume he'll be able to do something this spring," Munchak said. "I'm sure it's something that will be adjusted as he goes through the rehab process." Munchak fully expects Locker to be ready for training camp. At least for now, it appears Locker will be returning as the Titans' starting quarterback.

The Nashville Tennessean confirms Jake Locker's Lisfranc injury requires surgery. It's the same injury that ended Matt Schaub's 2011. It's not a minor ailment, but Locker should be ready in plenty of time for next summer's training camp.

Titans placed QB Jake Locker on injured reserve with a right Lisfranc injury, ending his season. Locker will likely undergo surgery in the near future. This is Locker's first trip to injured reserve, but means he'll have appeared in just 18 of a possible 32 games since the start of last season. Locker took an undeniable step forward this year, but did so in a vanilla offense. The Titans appeared loath to put much on their third-year quarterback's plate. In addition to being injury prone, Locker remains extremely streaky as a passer. He'll likely be back as the Titans' starter next season, but that could change for an organization that might undergo sweeping changes in the offseason.

The Titans hold a 2015 option on Jake Locker's contract. Locker will be back in 2014 for the final year of his rookie deal at $2.09 million. But the Titans have to decide by May 3, 2014 if they'll exercise a fifth-year option. As noted by the Nashville Tennessean, teams exercising the fifth-year option for a top-10 pick have to pay him a salary equal to the NFL transition tag. That would mean the Titans would have to pay Locker $13.068 million in 2015. Given his uneven play on the field and myriad of injuries, it's almost impossible to see this option getting picked up.

A source tells ESPN that the Titans are 99 percent certain Jake Locker (foot) is out for the season. The Titans fear Locker sustained a Lisfranc injury that could require surgery. Further testing Monday is expected to confirm those suspicions. It leaves the 4-5 Titans with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter and Rusty Smith as the backup going forward. Locker, who missed five games last year due to two shoulder injuries and then two more this year due to a hip injury, is earning an injury-prone label. His rookie contract expires after next season.
