Jake Locker (hip, knee) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. Locker did some light throwing and participated in the individual portion of practice. He was spotted with a noticeable limp and is still recovering from his hip/knee injuries. The "best-case scenario" remains that Locker returns after the Titans' Week 8 bye.

The "best-case scenario" for Jake Locker's (hip, knee) return remains after the Titans' Week 8 bye. Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to start against the 49ers this week. Tennessee's Week 9 tilt with the Rams is only 20 days away, making it seem like a bit of a stretch.

Per ESPN's Ed Werder, the Titans now estimate Jake Locker (hip, knee) will return in 4-6 weeks. The Titans' bye comes in Week 8. So in an absolute best-case scenario, Locker will miss just three games (vs. Chiefs, at Seahawks, vs.49ers) and return for a Week 9 game at the Rams. It's awful timing as he had the Titans at 3-1 while completing 62.2 percent of his passes to go with a 6:0 TD-to-INT ratio. Noodle-armed Ryan Fitzpatrick will step in as a weak QB2 until Locker returns.

Jake Locker's second MRI revealed "no major damage" to his hip joint, and he has already begun rehabbing his hip and MCL injuries. Locker's injury is officially being called a sprained hip. The Titans still "certainly (expect Locker) to miss a few weeks," but it sounds like he'll avoid injured reserve/designated to return. It's the best possible news considering how severe Locker's injury appeared to be on Sunday. Nevertheless, Locker isn't worth holding onto outside of deeper two-quarterback leagues. The Titans are rolling with Ryan Fitzpatrick in his absence.

The Nashville Tennessean reports Jake Locker (hip) is expected to miss at least 4-6 weeks, and "possibly more depending on rehab." That's despite the fact that "the damage isn't as bad as initially feared," and surgery isn't expected to be needed. Locker is undergoing another MRI on Tuesday to determine the full extent of the damage. Locker has only been officially ruled out for Week 5, but he'll be lucky to be back before November. He's very much a candidate for injured reserve/designated to return. Fill-in Ryan Fitzpatrick will be a low-end QB2 in Tennessee's run-heavy offense.

Speaking Monday, Titans coach Mike Munchak said Jake Locker (hip) is not done for the season, but that he requires another MRI. Per Munchak, there was "nothing obvious" on Locker's first MRI, so he'll get another one on Tuesday. The coach also revealed that Locker suffered a sprained MCL Sunday, but that it's "minor." Basically, all we know is that it's a fluid situation, and that Locker can be safely ruled out for Week 5. Reports that he was headed for injured reserve/designated to return appear quite premature, however.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport is "told" injured reserve/designated to return is Jake Locker's (hip) most likely landing spot. If true, it would cost Locker most of the rest of the season, and put the keys to the Titans' thus far humming car into noodle-armed Ryan Fitzpatrick's hands. We should get official word later this afternoon at coach Mike Munchak's press conference, though it's possible the Titans will still be awaiting test results.

The results of Jake Locker's hip MRI are not yet known. Locker got hit by Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples early in the second half of Sunday's win over the Jets. He immediately grabbed his right hip and winced in pain. Locker ended up at the hospital, where he was to undergo an MRI. Coach Mike Munchak said initial tests at the stadium didn't indicate the joint had popped out of place. Ryan Fitzpatrick is Locker's backup.

Jake Locker was carted off the field in the third quarter of Tennessee's Week 4 game against the Jets with a right hip injury. Locker was hit by Muhammad Wilkerson with a little more than 10:00 left in the third quarter. The quarterback fell to the ground and FB Collin Mooney appeared to step on Locker's foot, jarring Locker's hip. Trainers came out immediately and Locker could barely move. He was strapped to a board and taken off the field. Prior to leaving, Locker completed 18-of-24 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns. He left with the Titans up 24-6. Ryan Fitzpatrick is now in.
