Fred Davis (knee) returned to a full practice Friday and is listed as probable for Week 7 against the Giants.
The Giants-Redskins game has the highest over-under of any Week 7 contest, giving Davis some fantasy appeal if you're looking for a desperation tight end play.

Fred Davis (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Coach Mike Shanahan hinted it was just a precaution. Davis should suit up against the Giants, and having cleared at least 46 yards in four straight games, is an acceptable bye week fill-in at tight end.

Fred Davis caught five passes for 54 yards in the Redskins' Week 5 loss to the Falcons.
Davis got open down the middle of the field and played efficiently, although he's yet to establish himself as a big part of Washington's passing offense and we wonder if there are some playbook-knowledge concerns. Davis has not scored a touchdown this year, and topped 70 receiving yards in just 1-of-5 games. Davis would be a low-end TE1 option against the Vikings in Week 6, and a clear fantasy backup if Robert Griffin III (head) missed the game.

Fred Davis caught four passes for 70 yards in the Redskins' Week 4 win over the Bucs.
Davis often lined up split wide, but saw just four targets. He also didn't get any red-zone looks as the Redskins called Robert Griffin's number on quarterback draws. Still, after totaling four catches for 52 yards in the first two games, Davis has 11 catches for 160 yards in the last two weeks. In Week 5, he'll get a Falcons defense that gave up a 6/89/1 line to Greg Olsen Sunday.

Fred Davis caught seven passes for 90 yards in the Redskins' Week 3 loss to the Bengals.
Showing no signs of the blow to the head from Week 2, Davis caught all seven of the balls that came his way. It reminded both the Redskins and fantasy owners of Davis' appeal as a pass-catcher. Through the first two weeks, he totaled a mere four catches for 52 yards. As long as Pierre Garcon (foot) is sidelined, Davis projects as the most heavily-targeted Redskin.

Fred Davis said he did not sustain a concussion in the Week 2 loss to the Rams.
On Monday, coach Mike Shanahan said that Davis would be tested for a concussion. He never said that the tight end had a concussion. Davis ran and lifted without issue over the last couple days and has apparently been cleared for practice. He expects to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals. Through two games, Davis has just four catches for 52 yards on nine targets.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan revealed Monday that Fred Davis suffered a concussion in Sunday's Week 2 loss to St. Louis.
The timing of the injury wasn't revealed by Shanahan, but Davis will need to pass the NFL's protocol concussion testing in order to play against the Bengals in Week 3. Davis has had a quiet start to the season, reeling in just four grabs for 52 yards through two games, so this may be the impetus for fantasy owners to begin looking elsewhere for superior tight end starters.

Redskins TE Fred Davis was held to just 14 yards on two catches in Sunday's loss to the Rams.
While Davis did see a team-high five targets, he did not seem to be a significant part of the Redskins' game plan. He now has four catches for 52 yards through the first two games of the season. Fantasy owners expecting to catch lightning in a bottle with Davis as a TE1 this season may need to start exploring other options at tight end.

The Washington Post blames Fred Davis' quiet preseason on the Redskins trying to develop converted tight end Niles Paul.
Davis wasn't even targeted in the first two preseason games as the 'Skins took a long look at what Paul, an ex-wideout, could do at tight end. In the third preseason game, Davis got two catches. He remains the clear starter and is still the No. 7 fantasy tight end in our Draft Guide.
