Coach Mike Shanahan expects to hear an official decision on the status of Fred Davis and Trent Williams Tuesday. The NFL still has not confirmed multiple reports that both Davis and Williams will be suspended for the final four games for violating the substance abuse policy. The two attended team meetings on Monday. However, the Redskins' players already seemed resigned to losing both for the year. "It's hard to lose two guys of that caliber," safety Reed Doughty said. Davis' fantasy owners need to be making other plans.

Possibly playing in his final game of the season, Fred Davis caught six passes for 99 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets. If Davis is done for the year due to a failed drug test, he goes out on a high note. Even though the Jets' defense came into this one focused on stopping Davis, they had no answer early on. He showed great speed on crossing routes and hands on sideline catches. Through 12 games, Davis was on pace for 78.6 catches, 1,061 yards and four touchdowns.

SI's Jim Trotter reports that the NFL has suspended Redskins TE Fred Davis and LT Trent Williams four games apiece for failed drug tests. Details are unavailable at this point, but Davis' ban couldn't be coming at a worse possible time at the end of his contract year. If the suspensions are upheld -- and they will be if Davis and Williams legitimately failed drug tests -- neither Davis nor Williams will play again this season.

Fred Davis caught four passes for 58 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. Davis started out on fire, catches three of his passes and his touchdown in the first quarter. Then, the Redskins inexplicably forgot about him as he ended up with just four targets. Davis is averaging 4.2 catches for 45.0 yards with one score over the last four games heading into next week's matchup with the Jets.

Fred Davis caught six passes for 49 yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Cowboys. Davis hurt his team with a bad first-quarter fumble when he was reaching for a first down. But he did his thing as the day wore on, struggling in the blocking game but consistently getting open in the passing game. He came up two yards short of a fourth-quarter touchdown and ended up second on the team in targets with seven. Davis is a low-end TE1 option in Seattle next week.

Fred Davis played every snap in last week's loss to the Dolphins. Davis admitted to feeling his ankle sprain a little, but the Redskins can't afford to rest him. He was used as an in-line blocker and split out as a true wide receiver against the Dolphins. Davis' usage and the Redskins' lack of other weapons creates the potential for big games.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Redskins TE Fred Davis and LT Trent Williams are facing discipline for violating the league's substance abuse policy during the lockout. Yahoo Sports reported Saturday that as many as 11 players were facing discipline for testing positive for drugs of abuse during the lockout, but that only one was facing a possible suspension as a second-time offender. The remaining 10 are reportedly only facing fines. Neither Davis nor Williams has previously failed a drug test.

Fred Davis (ankle) has resumed practicing fully and will start the Redskins' Week 10 game against the Dolphins. Davis played 100 percent of the Redskins' offensive snaps in Week 9, so the ankle injury was not the cause for his relatively slow 4-42 stat line. The No. 5 overall fantasy tight end, keep Davis rolling in Week 10 at Miami.

Fred Davis caught four passes for 42 yards in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. For the second straight week, the vast majority of Davis' production came in garbage time. Still, the miserable Redskins figure to have plenty of that over the rest of the season, so we can't discount Davis' numbers. Through eight games, he's on pace for 80 catches, 1,118 yards and four touchdowns. It's a sustainable rate for the Redskins' best receiver.

Fred Davis (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Davis' Week 8 ankle sprain was of the Grade 1 variety, so there's no real concern here. He figures to be the primary pass-catcher for John Beck once again. Davis has racked up 20 catches in his last three games.
