Booker (wrist) is expected to return to action in Week 3 against the Bills, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Booker has been able to practice on a limited basis this week, but he is not ready for game action just yet. However, it seems he will only need an additional week to rest and recover in order to be ready to play. Booker figures to slot in behind C.J. Anderson and Jamaal Charles as the Broncos' third-string running back, but he was expected to see a share of the first-team snaps during training camp prior to his injury, so he will not necessarily be stuck in that role.

Though Booker (wrist) has returned to the practice field, he is not expected to play Sunday against the Cowboys, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jhabvala suggests that Booker could be ready for action in Week 3, however. As a result, look for him to be officially ruled out for Sunday's game come Friday, which sets the stage for another week in which C.J. Anderson and Jamaal Charles head the Denver backfield.

Booker (wrist) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
It remains to be seen how Booker's participation Wednesday is listed, but his presence on the field suggests that the running back is moving toward a return to game action, after suffering hairline fracture in his wrist back in July. With C.J. Anderson and Jamaal Charles on hand and healthy for now, there's no compelling reason to rush Booker back though. Down the road, however, he could factor in, particular if injuries hit his backfield counterparts.

Booker (wrist) is out for Monday's game against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Booker was all but ruled out for Week 1 some time ago, with maybe Week 3 proving a more realistic target for return. Jamaal Charles figures to be the primary backup to C.J. Anderson until at least that point.

Booker (fractured wrist) did not practice Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Booker hopes to be cleared to practice soon, but Week 1 is not in the cards for him, with C.J. Anderson on track to head the team's rushing attack Monday night against the Chargers.

Booker (wrist) said he could be cleared to return after he has a CT scan Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Said to be targeting a Week 3 return, Booker might actually have a shot to be back by Week 2 instead. He'll still miss Monday's game against the Chargers, leaving Jamaal Charles and De'Angelo Henderson to take on whatever carries C.J. Anderson doesn't handle. Booker's role upon returning may depend on how Charles looks in Monday's game.

Booker (wrist) figures to be on the team's 53-man roster, as opposed to the PUP, after cuts are finalized, according to the team's official site.
EDGE Analysis
The news has ramifications on two different levels. One one hand, head coach Vance Joseph has stated that he expects Booker ready to go early in the season - making Booker a more valuable commodity for a Denver offense likely to lean on the run. On the other, keeping a slot open for Booker likely means that another player - perhaps veteran Jamaal Charles gets the bump. When Booker does return to the lineup, he'll be facing a different landscape with the emergence of rookie De'Angelo Henderson, who has flashed big-play ability behind C.J. Anderson during training camp and in the preseason

Booker (wrist) hopes to be ready for Week 3 against the Bills, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Booker showed up to watch Wednesday's practice with a brace on his right wrist. This may be the first time he's talked to the media since undergoing surgery in late July to address a hairline fracture. The projected six-week timetable left some hope he'd be ready for Week 1, but it seems he's now resigned to missing the first couple games of the season. His absence has freed up added reps for Jamaal Charles and De'Angelo Henderson behind starter C.J. Anderson, adding further confusion to what always projected as a multi-headed backfield. Booker was expected to push Anderson for first-team work in training camp prior to the announcement of his surgery. Booker's role upon returning likely will depend on how Anderson and Co. performance in his absence.

Booker (wrist) should return somewhere near the start of the season and still figures to have a place in Denver's running back rotation, Nick Kosmider of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
C.J. Anderson appears locked in as the Week 1 starter, with Booker tentatively expected to fill the No. 2 role once he's available. Sixth-round rookie De'Angelo Henderson has made a case this preseason for some kind of involvement, and veteran Jamaal Charles hopes to do the same Saturday against the Packers in what will be his lone appearance of the exhibition schedule. Given his rookie-year struggles and the depth of competition, Booker may have serious competition for backup work upon rejoining the team. His Week 1 status remains up in the air, but it doesn't sound like he's in danger of missing more than a couple games.

Head coach Vance Joseph expects Booker (wrist) back by Week 1 or Week 2 of the regular season, Troy Renck of Denver 7 ABC reports.
EDGE Analysis
Booker wound up starting much of the second half of his rookie season for Denver after C.J. Anderson went down for the year - flashing both promise and a few ugly games. Booker's roster spot is likely safe, but it's fair to wonder what sort of role he'll step into. Prior to his wrist fracture, Booker was in line to get first-team reps, per Joseph. Now, he's set to enter a backfield stable with a clear leader in Anderson, a surprisingly dynamic rookie in De'Angelo Henderson, and a pair of veterans in Jamaal Charles and Stevan Ridley who have shown flashes of their old selves. It might be hard for Booker to get my traction early with this level of fresh competition.
