The Giants cut Booker on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Booker will be let go to create $2.1 million in cap savings for next season. Working behind Saquon Barkley in 2021, the 2016 fourth-round pick finished the campaign with 593 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 145 carries while adding 40 catches for 268 yards and one score on 45 targets. The 30-year-old is expected to garner interest from around the league as a backup/complementary option in the coming weeks.

The Giants plan to cut Booker, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the report, the anticipated move would create $2.1 million in cap savings for the Giants, while leaving $1 million in dead money. Working behind Saquon Barkley in 2021, Booker finished the campaign with 593 rushing yards and two TDs on 145 carries, while adding 40 catches for 268 yards and one score on 45 targets. The 2016 fourth-rounder, who turns 30 in May, is thus a candidate to catch on elsewhere as a backup/complementary option in the coming weeks.

Booker finished 2021 with 593 yards and two TDs at 4.1 YPC. He also caught 40 passes for 268 yards (6.7 YPC.)
EDGE Analysis
As Saquon Barkley's backup, Booker did a solid job filling in and handling both early down and pass catching duties when needed. He'll be 30 next year, but he's under contract for another season and is likely to reprise his role behind Barkley.

Booker rushed 18 times for 46 yards and caught two of three targets for no gain in Sunday's 29-3 loss to Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Booker played second fiddle to Saquon Barkley (21 carries for 102 yards) on the ground, but he saw a sizable workload himself and also accounted for half of Mike Glennon's four completions as the struggling Giants offense hit a new low. While Booker should continue to play a prominent role in Week 18 against Washington, it's tough to trust anybody on a Giants offense that has produced just 19 points over the past three games combined.

Booker rushed six times for 27 yards and secured all four of his targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Booker played on 52 percent of the Giants' offensive snaps Sunday, while Saquon Barkley was in on just 34 percent of snaps. Even with the added work, Booker couldn't get much of anything going. With Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm running the show at quarterback, the offense cannot move the ball through the air or on the ground with any sort of consistency. Booker and the rest of New York's offense will likely continue to struggle in a Week 17 matchup with Chicago.

Booker rushed eight times for 74 yards and secured both targets for eight yards in the Giants' 21-6 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Saquon Barkley rushed for just 3.3 yards per carry, while Booker, as was also the case in the Week 14 loss to the Chargers, was exponentially more efficient than his star backfield mate. The journeyman continues to earn a solid complementary role -- he's now logged 22 carries over the last three games -- and he also has multiple receptions in each of those contests. Given the amount of injuries and COVID-related absences at the running back position at this point in the season, fantasy managers could do worse than Booker in deeper PPR formats if they're particularly short-handed at the position.

Booker had eight carries for 56 yards and caught four of five passes for 28 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Saquon Barkley saw 16 carries and most of the snaps, but Booker still has a role, especially in the passing game.

Booker rushed the ball six times for 36 yards in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Dolphins. He added four receptions for 18 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Booker accounted for six carries as opposed to Saquon Barkley's 11, and he earned double-digit touches for the first time since Barkley's return to the field. He was effective as both a rusher and receiver, as he picked up gains of 17 and 13 yards on the ground as well multiple receptions of eight yards through the air. Booker isn't likely to see his workload increase heavily unless Barkley is forced to the sideline, though he remains the clear backup to stash for the Giants.

Booker carried three times for 10 yards and caught his only target for 17 yards in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Booker played just 10 offensive snaps as the backup to Saquon Barkley, who was on the field for 52 of the Giants' 60 plays. Neither Booker or Barkley could get much going on the ground against the Eagles, but Barkley remains locked into a high-volume, three-down role now that he's healthy again after recently missing time with a sprained ankle. Booker has little value with Barkley back in the lineup, but he remains a valuable handcuff in the event that Barkley were to be sidelined with an injury again.

Booker carried three times for 15 yards and caught his only target for five yards in Monday's 30-10 loss to the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
After a four-game run as a starter, Booker dropped back to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart at running back with Saquon Barkley (ankle) returning to action. Booker handled 21 offensive snaps, while Barkley played 36 snaps. Expect that discrepancy to grow larger as Barkley becomes further removed from the injury, rendering Booker little more than a handcuff to the Giants' lead back.
