Booker caught both of his targets for 38 yards and added a four-yard carry during Sunday's 24-10 win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Booker made his impact during the Broncos' final drive of the first half. Facing third and long at midfield, a scrambling Case Keenum found Booker along the right sideline for a 30-yard catch-and-run. Booker nabbed an eight-yard pass on the very next play to set up a Phillip Lindsay touchdown run. Booker, the elder statesman in the Broncos' backfield, has certainly seen his opportunities drop behind rookies Lindsay and Royce Freeman. He's mostly been relegated to the passing game, which may be key next Sunday as the 49ers have been stronger against the run than the pass this season.

Booker played 11 of the Broncos' 56 offensive snaps (19.6 percent) and finished with a four-yard reception on his lone target in Sunday's 23-22 win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
After playing 43 percent of the Broncos' snaps in their previous two games, Booker predictably saw his usage decline while rookie Royce Freeman (ankle) returned from injury. Freeman only played 13 snaps, but saw eight touches (seven carries, one catch) behind lead back Philip Lindsay (11 carries, four receptions), leaving no real role left in the game plan for Booker. Assuming Freeman came out of the contest without any setbacks, his opportunities should only expand from here, relegating Booker mainly to a special-teams role.

Booker tallied 78 rushing yards on nine carries and reeled in all four of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
After logging a season-low six offensive snaps in the Broncos' Week 7 win over the Cardinals, Booker saw his role expand in a significant way with rookie Royce Freeman (ankle) unavailable. Though Phillip Lindsay retained starting duties and picked up 18 carries and three receptions on the day, the Broncos kept a backfield committee in place, enabling Booker to earn a season-high touch total (13) while 32 of the team's 73 offensive snaps (44 percent). If Freeman's high-ankle sprain sidelines him for the Broncos' next game Nov. 4 against the Texans, Booker should be in store for a similar-sized role, as he did little in Week 8 to justify ceding more snaps to Lindsay.

Booker could experience more offensive snaps Sunday at Kansas City in the absence of Royce Freeman (ankle), Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Phillip Lindsay (90 touches) and Freeman (75) largely have split the work out of the backfield through the first seven games of the season. Meanwhile, Booker has tallied 13 carries and 16 catches. Expect Lindsay to earn the majority of rushes between the tackles and in the red zone, but Booker's snap and touch count is due to increase while Freeman tends to a sprained ankle.

Booker brought in his only target for -1 yards during Thursday's 45-10 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Booker did not log a single carry behind Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, and lost a yard on his only target in the passing game. The third-year pro played only six offensive snaps during the Week 7 contest, and remains firmly locked into the No. 3 role in Denver's offense.

Booker ran for four yards on two attempts and nabbed two passes for 11 yards during Sunday's 27-24 win over Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
It was just a week or so ago that Booker was set to be the starter, or at least the co-starter, in Denver. He ended up ranking third among the team's backs with 19 offensive snaps. His four touches were significantly fewer than rookies Phillip Lindsay's 17 and Royce Freeman's 15. Lindsay topped 100 total yards in his first career game -- something Booker hasn't done since Week 12 of 2016. Booker's stock is falling. Fast.

Booker's teammate, Royce Freeman, is slated to be listed as the Broncos' No. 1 running back on the team's initial depth chart, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Booker still has a chance to make his mark in the Denver backfield, notably in passing situations, which sets the stage for him to merit PPR consideration. Meanwhile, it appears as though Freeman will have an opportunity to carve out an early-down role for the team, a reality clearly reflected by his ADP, which is far higher than Booker's.

Vance Joseph believes that whoever starts at running back doesn't matter, because -- on the first play of Week 1 -- they might call Royce Freeman's number if it's a run or Booker's number if it's a quick pass, Zac Stevens of BSN Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hopefully, for the sake of not tipping plays, Joseph did not mean to be taken too literally, but his comment says a lot about where this competition has been and where it is going. The Broncos are likely to carry four running backs this season, including fullback Andy Janovich. That leaves three roster spots. Freeman has led the team with 5.6 yards per carry and three touchdowns this preseason. Fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay leads the squad with 7.5 yards per touch. That leaves Booker and De'Angelo Henderson battling for one spot and, while neither has been particularly effective running the ball, Henderson has four more catches and 34 more receiving yards. All of this is to say, yes --Booker's experience with the little things like pass protection might earn him a roster spot and a starting role now, but with Freeman and Lindsay performing well, Booker is going to have to start producing to warrant touches.

Booker took three carries for nine yards in Friday's preseason game against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Booker got the start and the first two carries, but he only had more touch the rest of the night despite playing quite a few snaps alongside Case Keenum. Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay also saw playing time in the first half, with the former breaking off a 24-yard touchdown to bring his preseason rushing line to 15-84-3. Booker has an uninspiring 9-33-0 line after three weeks, but the Broncos still seem to be headed for a committee approach to start the season. It won't come as any surprise if Booker gets the first snap Week 1 against the Seahawks.

Booker rushed twice for seven yards during Saturday's preseason opener against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Booker, who was listed as the No. 1 running back on the initial roster, barely saw any action Saturday, so it's hard to compare his performance to that of rookie Royce Freeman. However, Freeman was very impressive on his similarly-low four carries, one time busting a 22-yard run to the house. This battle for the No. 1 job could come down to the wire, but after the preseason opener, it seems as if the momentum is on Freeman's side.
