Andre Brown has been diagnosed with a broken left fibula. Awful news. Brown is out indefinitely, and doubtful to see the field again in 2012-13 barring a deep playoff run from the defending champions. A much bigger burden will now fall on the shoulders of brittle lead back Ahmad Bradshaw, whose foot woes have mostly prevented him from taking the practice field over the past month. The upshot is, the Giants now have no choice but to get electric rookie back David Wilson more involved. Wilson can be immediately added as a potential stretch run flex option, but it will be Bradshaw who takes over goal-line duties from Brown. Wilson's struggles with ball security and pass protection could end up limiting him to only 5-6 touches per game.

Andre Brown was forced from New York's Week 12 game against the Packers with a left foot/ankle injury. Brown got his foot rolled up on a tackle mid-way through the fourth quarter, and limped to the locker room for X-rays soon after. Brown appeared to suffer a pretty severe ankle twist, but did walk off the field under his own power. He was having a strong game before going down, rushing 13 times for 64 yards and a touchdown. Brown actually out-carried Ahmad Bradshaw, but that was likely a function of the game's lopsided score. Brown's two-yard touchdown came after Bradshaw took a screen 59 yards to the Packers' two-yard line in the first quarter. If Brown can't go for Week 13, rookie David Wilson would likely serve in a change-of-pace role, leaving Bradshaw for goal-line duties.

Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride says Andre Brown has "earned that chance to get on the field." Brown played 44 snaps to just 23 for Ahmad Bradshaw on Sunday, but that was mostly due in part to Bradshaw leaving the game after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the third quarter. "When we've given him an opportunity to carry the ball, he's done well. He's catching the ball extremely well. So I think it's more a matter of him having earned that chance to get on the field. And so far every time we've given him a chance, he's come through for us," said Gilbride. Brown continues to get goal-line work, and Bradshaw has averaged just 14.7 carries per game over the last four weeks in a timeshare role.

Andre Brown rushed seven times for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 10 loss to the Bengals, adding five catches for 29 yards. Brown "started" both the first and second halves, but remained the Giants' clear No. 2 back until Ahmad Bradshaw departed following a helmet-to-helmet hit late in the third quarter. Brown's two-yard score came with the Giants trailing 31-6 with 2:46 remaining. Brown remains worth a hold in 12-14 team leagues, but until Bradshaw actually misses a game, he'll be a poor flex option despite his weekly goal-line touches.

Andre Brown (shoulder) is practicing in full this week. He'll be ready to go against the Bengals. Operating as the Giants' goal-line back of late, Brown's not a poor hail-mary option at the flex spot if you're really hurting at running back.

Andre Brown (shoulder) will practice Wednesday. Brown left last week's loss to the Steelers a little early, but it's not a concern. He likely sustained a mere bruise. Brown should be ready to vulture goal-line chances from Ahmad Bradshaw against the Bengals Sunday.

Andre Brown says his shoulder is "OK" even though he didn't return to New York's Week 9 loss to the Steelers after leaving in the fourth quarter. The Giants' sputtering offense ran only nine total plays (not counting punts) on three fourth-quarter possessions, so it's possible Brown may have returned had the G-Men ever gotten into a rhythm. Before going down, three of Brown's seven carries came in goal-to-go situations. He found pay-dirt once. His status will be updated no later than Monday.

Andre Brown was forced from the Giants' Week 9 game against the Steelers with a shoulder injury, and is questionable to return. Brown was absent for New York's first drive of the fourth quarter. Acting as New York's clear short yardage hammer before departing, Brown had notched 20 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Andre Brown rushed three times for 21 yards and a touchdown in New York's Week 8 win over the Cowboys. Brown plunged in from the one-yard line in the first quarter. He was held without a catch, muffing one of his two targets. Ahmad Bradshaw's playing time has seemed ripe for the picking, but even after Bradshaw put the ball on the ground this afternoon, Brown's role wasn't expanded. He's a pure handcuff, and poor desperation-flex option.

Andre Brown rushed five times for 17 yards with a touchdown and added a 17-yard catch in the Giants' Week 7 win over the Redskins. Brown vultured a one-yard touchdown from an apparently healthy Ahmad Bradshaw in the second quarter. From there, Brown was just a change-of-pace option. He didn't get any series to himself as the Giants took a pass-heavy approach against the Redskins' league-worst secondary. Consider Brown a handcuff to Bradshaw only heading into next week's game in Dallas.
