Andre Brown played just nine snaps in the Giants' Week 4 loss to the Eagles. The Giants might have their eye on a timeshare, but it didn't happen Sunday night. Forced to go pass-heavy, they used Ahmad Bradshaw on 58 snaps as the better protector. Expect more runs and more chances for Brown against Cleveland in Week 5.

Andre Brown rushed five times for 14 yards in New York's Week 4 loss to the Eagles. Brown added one catch for four yards. It was not an impressive night for Brown coming off his Week 3 gashing of the Panthers, as he failed to gain more than four yards on any of his five totes. Brown did receive the Giants' first carry of the night, but was out-touched 16-6 by Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw is still the leader of New York's backfield committee, leaving Brown as bench fodder/desperation flex.

Giants OC Kevin Gilbride suggested that his backfield workload will be determined by which running back develops "the hot hand" going forward. Gilbride acknowledged that Andre Brown "definitely earned the right to get into the mix" because he has "really changed the dynamic of our run game." It's high praise as opposed to coachspeak. "It's just a matter of us trying to get a feel what plays certain guys run a little more effectively than others," added Gilbride. "And you're always hoping somebody gets hot and you feed the hot hand." Brown has played better than Ahmad Bradshaw on film and in the boxscore through three weeks. If forced to pick one of the Giants backs, we prefer Brown as he's a better fit for the offense. For Week 4 alone, both backs are mere flex plays versus a stout Eagles run defense.

Coach Tom Coughlin said that Andre Brown has "definitely" earned a role even though Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is fully expected back this week. Bradshaw will start Sunday's game against the Eagles, but Brown will be part of a committee. He's earned it by excelling in pass protection and averaging 5.6 yards per carry with three touchdowns on the season. It's a plus for the Giants, but a potential headache for fantasy owners. Neither back will dominate touches.

Andre Brown rushed 20 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the Panthers. Brown also added three catches and 17 yards to his stat line. The Giants offensive line created massive holes in the Carolina defense, and Brown hit them hard. He even lowered his head and ran over smaller defensive backs on multiple occasions. Brown doesn't have the elusiveness and shifty skills that is going to make a defender miss. Facing one of the league's weakest run defenses, a performance of this nature was almost expected. With Ahmad Bradshaw's (neck) diagnosis and timetable uncertain, Brown could see a lot of playing time again in Week 4, but it's going to be tough sledding against the Eagles.

Andre Brown is expected to start Thursday's Week 3 game against the Panthers. With Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) out, Brown projects as a three-down back. Flashy rookie David Wilson will mix in as the change-of-pace option. Last week, Brown took over for Bradshaw in the second quarter and rushed 13 times for 71 yards with a touchdown. He added a two-point conversion and two catches for 19 yards. Brown is a pedestrian runner at best, but he's a flex option against the Panthers' weak run defense.

Coach Tom Coughlin hinted that RB Andre Brown would indeed take over as the featured back if Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) sits out Thursday night. "I thought Andre did a nice job," Coughlin said. "He certainly was the focal point once Ahmad came out of the game. David (Wilson) has his plays and certainly will get some more time as well." Brown will be a top-30 fantasy option versus the Panthers if Bradshaw is inactive this week.

The Newark Star-Ledger expects Andre Brown to see "the bulk of the carries" versus the Panthers Thursday night. Coach Tom Coughlin is holding hope "against all odds" that Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) will be available, but it doesn't look good. Brown played well in relief of Bradshaw versus the Bucs and appears to have the coaching staff's trust. Explosive rookie David Wilson played just six snaps in Week 2, largely due to his struggles with ball security and pass protection.

Andre Brown served as the Giants' feature back in Week 2 after Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) went down. Brown spent last season on the practice squad and entered Sunday as the strict third-down back. But thanks to Bradshaw's injury and the coaching staff's lack of trust in flashy rookie David Wilson, Brown ended up with 13 carries for 71 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion. He added two catches for 19 yards. If Bradshaw isn't ready for Thursday's game against the Panthers, Brown projects to spearhead a timeshare with Wilson.

The NFL has lifted Giants RB Andre Brown's four-game suspension. Brown was accused of violating the league's PED policy, but he only tested positive for Adderall, which he's been using since he came into the league. Brown, 25, used the offseason to gain weight in an effort to become the Giants' "next Brandon Jacobs." He broke in as a 224-pound back, and is up to 240.
