Matthews (hip) will participate in Wednesday's matchup against the Knicks, Brad Townsend of SportsDay reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews strained his right hip during Sunday's victory over the Lakers and was unable to return to play during the second half. Matthews claims that although there may be some physical limitations affecting his play, he'll be available and will pull himself out if necessary. If his playing time becomes limited, Seth Curry, Dorian Finney-Smith and Justin Anderson could see a boost in minutes.

Matthews (hip) has been downgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Earlier in the week, the Mavericks were listing Matthews as probable, but they've drawn back a bit and are now considering him questionable. There still seems like a good chance he'll eventually take the court, but look for another update on his availability following Wednesday's morning shootaround. If Matthews can't take the court, it would likely mean added minutes for the likes of Seth Curry, Dorian Finney-Smith and Justin Anderson on the wing.

Matthews (hip) is probable for Wednesday's matchup against the Knicks, Eddie Sefko of DallasNews.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews suffered a right hip strain during Sunday's tilt against the Lakers and exited the game, but is expected to see the floor for the Mavericks next game against the Knicks. The 30-year-old has hit 43.2 percent of his threes over the past six games.

Matthews suffered a right hip strain during Sunday's game against the Lakers and he will not return, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews first-half exit figures to result in additional minutes for Seth Curry and Devin Harris throughout the remainder of the contest. The severity of Matthews' hip injury isn't believed to be anything too serious at this point, but his status for Wednesday's game against the Knicks is in danger.

Matthews scored 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt) and added five rebounds, a block and an assist in 36 minutes during a 99-95 loss to the Heat on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews looks to have finally regained some of the strength and mobility he lost when he tore his Achilles tendon back in Portland. Although he started off January with a mini-slump, scoring less than 10 points in three straight games, Matthews has bounced back and put up 18-plus points in three out of his last four. For the first time in years, he passes the eye test; his jumper has lift again, and he isn't the slowest wing on the floor anymore.

Matthews scored 19 points (7-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding seven rebounds, an assist and a block in 35 minutes during Sunday's 98-87 win over the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
After scoring in single digits in three straight games, Matthews has bounced back with 37 points and eight three-pointers over his last two contests. He's been streaky this season, but the 30-year-old is showing signs of heating up once again.

Matthews totaled 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five assists, a steal and a block over 38 minutes in Thursday's 113-108 win over the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews rediscovered his shot after a miserable three-game stretch where he'd just 22.5 percent (7-for-31) from the field. The eight-year veteran got hot from three-point range in particular, notching a 50 percent success rate from the beyond the arc for the third time in the last six games. Given his streaky shooting, Matthews' production seems destined to fluctuate, but he can certainly offer solid production in the categories of overall scoring and three-pointers when he's got the hot hand.

Matthews was limited to two points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five assists and four rebounds across 37 minutes in a 101-92 loss to the Mavericks on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After a slow first month of the season in which he struggled to find consistency from the field, Matthews appeared to settle in nicely in December, when he averaged 17.4 points per game while shooting 42.3 percent from the field. However, he's slumping again to begin 2017, as Matthews is now averaging just 8.0 points (on 28.6% shooting), 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 three-pointers in 36.0 minutes per game in four January outings. Matthews' field-goal percentage can only go up from here, but even at his best, he's still a fairly low-efficiency player and will be a liability in that category throughout the season.

Matthews recorded 20 points (6-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 35 minutes in a 101-89 win over the Lakers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
After a four-game cold spell, the streaky Matthews seems to have righted the ship. Over his last five contests, Matthews has scored at least 16 points in each game while bagging a total of 12 three-pointers. The Mavericks were missing Dirk Nowitzki (illness) on Thursday and could be missing him for the second half of the back-to-back set Friday against the Warriors, so Matthews may again be in line for another high-volume role in the team's attack.

Matthews scored nine points (3-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), along with five assists and a steal in a 107-117 loss to the Nuggets on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After seemingly breaking out of a season-long funk at the beginning of December, Matthews has gone cold over the past four games, shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor and 30.6 percent from beyond the arc. His shot still doesn't have the same lift as it did before his Achilles injury two seasons ago, and his off-the-bounce game has no, well, "bounce" to it.
