Matthews will be rested for the Mavericks' season finale Wednesday against the Grizzlies, Eddie Sefko of SportsDay reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Mavericks out of playoff contention, they'll opt to rest Matthews in order to get a look at some of the younger players. He will finish the season averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 34.2 minutes per game while shooting 36.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Matthew will take Tuesday's game against the Nuggets off in order to rest, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mavericks failed to provide any indication that Matthews would potentially have the night off until they announced their starters shortly before tip-off. J.J. Barea will be replacing the veteran at shooting guard in the starting lineup. Matthews' status for Wednesday's season finale against the Grizzlies is unclear at this time.

Matthews is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Mavericks' radio pregame host Mike Peasley reports.
EDGE Analysis
J.J. Barea is listed as the starting shooting guard, so it is unclear what type of role Matthews will play. There is no indication that he is inactive, so he may just be taking on a light load in the game. The Mavericks play their final game of the season Wednesday against the Grizzlies, and it is unclear what direction they will go with their lineup.

Matthews will sit out Tuesday's game against the Kings for rest purposes, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since the Mavericks are officially out of the running for playoff contention, coach Rick Carlisle will aim to monitor the workloads of his veterans over the team's final six contests. Matthews will get the night off on the front end of a back-to-back set, and could be joined on the sideline by any of Harrison Barnes (rest), J.J. Barea (rest), Dirk Nowitzki (Achilles) and Seth Curry (shoulder), who are all listed as questionable. Matthews has seen 33 or more minutes in each of the Mavs' last eight contests, so he could certainly benefit from the time off. It wouldn't be surprising if Carlisle opted to hold out the swingman again for one game of the team's final back-to-back set of the season April 11 and 12, but look for Matthews to return to action Wednesday against the Clippers.

Matthews posted 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt), seven assists, three rebounds and one blocked shot over 35 minutes in Friday's 99-90 loss to the Grizzlies.
EDGE Analysis
Along with a team-leading seven assists, Matthews found his stroke again, going 50 percent from the floor for a second consecutive game. Over the five games prior to that, he was shooting a terrible 26.7 percent. It's been a bad year in that category for Matthews, as his season average of 39.3 percent is the second-worst result in his eight-year career. Matthews' usage has remained high in March (31.6 minutes per game over 13 contests), so it's difficult to ignore his potential to produce decent numbers, but he's a risky prospect to start in leagues that are playing their postseason matchups. He could be useful as a DFS tournament option, however.

Matthews managed four points (2-12 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks across 34 minutes during Saturday's 94-86 loss to the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews continues to struggle from the field while recovering from hip and calf injuries, though has totaled a solid 18 rebounds, 18 assists, six steals and three blocks over his past four contests. Fantasy owners in year-long formats will have to decide whether or not his total statistical production is worth his massive dip in scoring, while DFS players are faced with the decision on whether or not to roster him while his price declines, hoping for a bounce back game.

Matthews managed five points (1-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block across 35 minutes during Thursday's 97-95 victory over the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews has completely fallen off the map over the past 13 games, averaging 8.2 points across 31.5 minutes per game while shooting just 30.5 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from beyond the arc. He's been dealing with hip and calf injuries over that period, so his poor shooting could be attributed to a lack of lift. Regardless, he's performing poorly by anyone's standards. He could be worth dropping for a hotter shooter if there's one available, considering most year-long fantasy leagues are in their playoffs, where wins in the short term take priority.

Matthews finished with 15 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 111-104 win over the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews struggled in Friday's return to the lineup following a one-game absence due to a calf injury, managing just three points (on one-of-eight from the field). He has been in a bit of a funk lately, scoring less than 10 points in eight of his last 11 appearances. Nevertheless, Matthews was in a groove for most of February, and the veteran could be called upon to play heavy minutes down the stretch as the Mavericks chase the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Coach Rick Carlisle said that Matthews (calf) would start Friday against the 76ers, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matthews missed Wednesday's win over the Wizards with the right calf strain, but after completing morning shootaround without a hitch, the team was comfortable with clearing the veteran to play. It's expected that Matthews will take back his usual starting role at small forward, resulting in Dorian Finney-Smith heading back to the bench. Given the brevity of Matthews' absence, it's not expected that he'll face any minutes limitations Friday.

Matthews (calf) is expected to play Friday against the 76ers, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mavericks are still officially listing Matthews as questionable on their injury report, but it sounds as though he was present for the team's morning shootaround and is on track to play following a one-game absence due to the right calf strain. Assuming Matthews is cleared to suit up, he'd likely take back his starting role on the wing from Dorian Finney-Smith and face no minute restrictions.
