Tim Duncan will start in Thursday's game against the Nuggets.
Duncan was just given a simple day of rest on Tuesday. With a week off looming and Tiago Splitter (calf) out, the veteran should play heavy minutes Thursday. Duncan has seen 32-plus minutes in three of his last four games.

Tim Duncan and Tony Parker will not play on Tuesday night against the Blazers in order to rest.
Gregg Popovich strikes again, and given that it's the last game in a five-game night, fantasy owners are just going to have to take this one on the chin. We're guessing that Gary Neal will start at point guard, with Matt Bonner getting the call at power forward. We're also guessing Duncan and Parker will be back for Thursday's All-Star break finale against the Nuggets.

Tim Duncan stayed hot on Tuesday, torching the Pistons for 18 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and three blocks.
Duncan is averaging 16 points, 13 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 2.6 blocks over his last five games, and should continue to roll until Gregg Popovich gives him a surprise night off, which could come at any time. The Spurs play again on Wednesday, and have a back-to-back again on Monday and Tuesday, but there's no way of telling when Pop might sit him again. Keep him in your lineup.

Coach Gregg Popovich said he'll continue to limit Tim Duncan's minutes going forward.
Duncan has missed just one full game all year, but he's playing a meager 27.3 minutes per night. "He understands what we're doing," Popovich said. "It's not so much because he's older. I just want him ready for the playoffs." Duncan is averaging career-lows in points (13.9), rebounds (8.4), blocks (1.3) and field-goal percentage (47.8).

Tim Duncan scored 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting (7-of-7 from the foul line) with nine rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block in just 22 minutes of action in the Spurs' 93-81 win over the Hornets on Thursday.
Consider the opponent when rating this performance, but considering Duncan was rumored to be headed for a DNP tonight owners have to be thrilled. Tony Parker added 18 points with five boards and seven assists in the win.

Updating an earlier item, Tim Duncan will play on Thursday against the Hornets.
Duncan was rumored to be getting a rest but owners catch a break here. He could be on a minute limit, but that is an outside possibility on any given night. Unless you're loaded at center and have a games played limit, get him in your lineup.

Duncan reportedly had a great chance of being held out tonight, but if we had to guess right now he'll be given the chance to play. Stay tuned.

Tim Duncan could be given rest in one of the Spurs' next two games following Monday's game against the Grizzlies.
Beat writer Jeff McDonald says that with Duncan playing on Monday, "you can almost bet" that he will rest on either on Wednesday against the Rockets or Thursday against the Hornets. Owners should plan accordingly.

Tim Duncan scored a season-high 28 points including the game-winning shot on Monday against the Hornets, hitting 11-of-19 shots from the field with seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 34 minutes.
Duncan's sweep across the lane to win the game was half Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and half Magic Johnson doing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Gregg Popovich spoke after the game of prescribing Duncan plenty of rest, and made specific mention of not allowing him to play four games in five nights. Those issues might be frustrating, but Duncan is providing sixth round value and has a decent shot at continuing it -- at least while Manu Ginobili is out.
