Tim Duncan said he thinks he can play 1-2 more seasons. Duncan will be a free agent this summer, but he clearly said he's not leaving San Antonio. So he'll be back next season, likely in the same role he was used in this year. Duncan sat out eight games and logged 28.2 minutes per game in the regular season. During the playoffs, he's playing 32.4 minutes a night.

Tim Duncan scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Sunday, as the Spurs completed their sweep of the Clippers and improved to 8-0 in the postseason. Duncan averaged just 28 minutes per game this year, and with the Spurs breezing through two rounds their veterans should be plenty rested for the fiercer battles to come. While the national media lavishes attention on locker room dramatics in Miami and L.A., the Spurs have quietly won 18 consecutive games dating back to the regular season.

Game 4 of the Spurs vs. Clippers series is scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 ET, but might be delayed if the NHL playoffs game between the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes goes unexpectedly long. The afternoon hockey game would have to last into double-overtime to conflict with the Spurs' game, but it's worth mentioning. With the Lakers, Clippers and Kings all in the postseason, the Staples Center is suddenly overflowing with events.

It's been "whispered" that Tim Duncan will re-sign with the Spurs for multiple years after his contract expires at the end of the season. Duncan's free agency isn't a hotly discussed subject because everybody expects him to remain in San Antonio. It would be a surprise if Duncan re-signed for anything more than a few seasons, but he's playing great basketball and recently said that he's feeling the healthiest he has in quite some time. We don't expect it to take long for the two sides to hammer out a new contract in the offseason.

Tim Duncan posted his 133rd playoff double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Tuesday's easy 108-92 Game 1 win over the Clippers. Tony Parker struggled with seven points on 1-of-9 shooting, but did have 11 assists in the win, while Manu Ginobili scored 22 points with three assists and three 3-pointers. The Spurs didn't pull away until late, but they look nearly unbeatable right now, getting contributions from across the board, while DeJuan Blair only got one minute of garbage time off the bench in this one.

Tim Duncan averaged just 28.3 minutes per game during the regular season. It was a career low for The Big Fundamental, but the plan appears to be paying major dividends as he's produced double-double's in each of his first two playoff games thus far. His health was a big reason why San Antonio was bounced out of the postseason early in 2011, but Duncan is feeling good this time around and will be pivotal to the Spurs' chances of enjoying a deep playoff push.

Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker won't play in the final two games of the season, according to Gregg Popovich. "It's doesn't make any sense to play them," Popovich said. "Our health is more important than the final record." Every other player on the roster under the age of 35 should get decent minutes in the two final regular-season games, but don't be surprised to see Popovich mix it up, playing different guys heavy minutes in each game. Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, Tiago Splitter and Dejuan Blair are a few guys who should finish up strong.

Tim Duncan returned from a night off on Sunday to score 18 points with eight boards on Monday, as the Spurs clinched the top seed in the Western Conference with a win over the Blazers. Duncan added a steal and four blocks in 26 minutes and Tony Parker scored 13 points with seven rebounds and six assists, while Manu Ginobili was the only buzz-kill with just six points, two boards, three assists, and two steals in 17 minutes, but in fairness the game was over before his second-unit shifts allowed him to accumulate playing time. Pop might play these guys a little bit on Wednesday or Thursday to keep them from getting rusty, but the chances of him playing them more than 20 minutes are very, very low.

Tim Duncan is likely to start on Monday against the Blazers, and he and all of his teammates are "available." This doesn't mean too much, though we do get the sense that Duncan is going to go and it will be a normal 'everybody plays 20 minutes' game out of Gregg Popovich. Danny Green said he is feeling "no ill-effects" after being poked in the eye on Sunday. The Spurs can clinch the top seed in the West with a win tonight.
