Tim Duncan scored 25 points in the first half and finished with 30 points and 17 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the Spurs in their Game 6 overtime loss to the Heat on Tuesday. The Heat had no answer for Duncan in the first half and the Spurs looked primed to take the title before Duncan and Tony Parker both pooped out down the stretch. Parker finished with 19 points and eight assists, but hit just 6-of-23 shots and despite that his trips to the bench late in overtime will be something reporters (timidly) ask Pop about in the post-game. Kawhi Leonard played great with 22 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, but his missed free throw that could've iced the game will haunt him unless the Spurs pull out Thursday's Game 7. Danny Green finally regressed with a 1-of-7 mark from the field and Manu Ginobili was terrible with eight turnovers.

Tim Duncan scored a team-high 20 points in Thursday's 109-93 loss to the Heat, adding five boards, one assist and one block in 33 minutes. The Spurs had a solid game offensively, shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Miami's offense was just too much tonight and San Antonio's 19 turnovers led to 23 points hurt them badly. Gary Neal was solid again with 13 points and three 3-pointers while Danny Green contributed 10 points and three triples.

Heavy traffic did delay Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and others from normal early arrival for Tuesday's game. There really shouldn't be much of an impact from this issue, but players not getting into their normal routine is never really a positive. The Spurs will look to hold homecourt and head into Game 3 fairly healthy.

Tim Duncan finished Game 2 with nine points and 11 rebounds, shooting 3-of-13 from the field before sitting out the fourth quarter of the Spurs' 84-103 defeat. Duncan set plenty of high screens but he was rarely isolated on the post, where he succeeded in Game 1. The silver lining for Spurs fans is that Duncan played 30 minutes, Tony Parker 33 minutes, and Manu Ginobili 18 minutes, which should keep them fresher for Tuesday's Game 3.

Tim Duncan logged a double-double in Thursday's victory over the Heat with 20 points and 14 boards, adding four assists and three blocks in 37 minutes. Duncan and the Spurs got several good looks and won the points-in-the-paint battle 40-34. He also did a great job in help defense when Dwyane Wade and LeBron James attacked the basket. The Spurs ran at a fast pace throughout this game, so it should be interesting to see how Duncan's 37-year-old frame holds up.

Tim Duncan changed his diet during the summer in order to lose weight. "I kind of change my diet in the summer more than anything," he said. "I'm active enough (during the season), I can burn enough calories there." Duncan has been playing this season at 235 lbs. after topping out at 260 at his heaviest. "The last couple years, my game declined and changed," he said when asked about the change in his body. "I wasn't ready to let it go. I thought if I was lighter, I could lessen that pain and have a better season." Now, Duncan is on his way to the NBA Finals.

Tim Duncan says he's down 25 to 30 pounds from his peak weight of 255-260 pounds. Duncan, who was already slim for his size, changed his diet and committed to getting leaner in the offseason. Duncan said he made the change because he wasn't ready to retire yet and realized he needed to be in better shape in order to keep contributing on a high level. It obviously worked and Duncan had his best season since 2009-10, averaging 17.8, 9.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 blocks in just 30 minutes per game. Duncan and the Spurs just finished a sweep of the Grizzlies and are currently waiting out the winner of the Eastern Conference finals.

Tim Duncan is the first player in NBA history with 500 playoff blocks. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is second with 476 and Hakeem Olajuwon is third at 472. During Duncan's 16-year NBA career, he has averaged 2.2 blocks a night in the regular season and 2.5 in 202 playoff games. It's a very high number for a player that isn't athletic or a leaper. Duncan's 2.1 blocks per game in just 30.1 minutes during this regular season was eye-opening.

Tim Duncan was quiet in the Spurs' 103-85 win over the Grizzlies on Sunday, scoring six points with 10 boards, four assists and two blocks in 27 minutes. His defense was the story and he was putting a lot of energy into successfully defending Zach Randolph. It's going to be tough sledding for Duncan on offense with Memphis ranking first in the NBA in field goal percentage allowed in the paint. Obviously, if the Spurs are going to shoot 14-of-29 from downtown against an outstanding D like Memphis', it really isn't going to matter how Duncan performs on offense. The Spurs will host Game 2 on Tuesday.

Tim Duncan does not expect the Western Conference Finals to be "pretty" with the Spurs going into a best-of-seven slugfest against the Grizzlies. "It's not going to be pretty," he said. "Sorry. It's just not going to be. It's going to be two teams trying to impose wills on each other. It's going to be a rough one. If you thought this [series] was physical, it's going to turn up about 10 notches." It's a fantastic quote from one of the game's more candid players, but this is also the same guy who famously flipped off an onlooker who was filming him leaving a CVS last season. We can't wait to see Duncan battle Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.
