Unrestricted free agent Ray Allen is torn on whether to leave the Celtics, sources tell ESPN.com.
Allen left his meeting with the Heat on Thursday night without giving them an answer. The Celtics have offered a two-year, $12 million deal that includes a no-trade clause. The most the Heat can offer is their mid-level exception, up to three years and $9.5 million. The Timberwolves are also reportedly in the mix, but are a longshot at best. There's no timetable on a decision right now.

Ric Bucher is reporting that the Timberwolves have entered the Ray Allen sweepstakes, albeit as a very deep darkhorse.
If Allen doesn't take his talents to South Beach or re-sign with the Celtics, the Timberwolves are said to have some interest in talking to the free agent sharp shooter. It would be a major shocker if Allen doesn't re-up with the Celtics or sign with the Heat, but stranger things have happened. Stay tuned.

Ray Allen will stay overnight in Miami to setup another day of talks after meeting with the team on Thursday.
Allen had a meeting with the Clippers that is now cancelled after they signed Jamal Crawford. It still sounds like a 50/50 proposition that he lands in Miami or Boston.

The Clippers canceled their scheduled meeting with Ray Allen after coming to a multiyear agreement with free agent SG Jamal Crawford on Thursday.
Allen will meet with the Heat on Thursday, and all indications are that he will play with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in Miami next season. The Celtics are also still in the running for Allen, but it sounds like the Heat might close the deal tonight.

Ray Allen could still return to the Celtics, but is also being courted by the Heat and Clippers, and it sounds like the Clippers may have the best shot at landing him.
With Wade commanding nearly all the minutes at shooting guard in Miami, Allen's role would be somewhat minor, while the Heat are also not in a position to offer Allen as much as the Clippers. Allen could potentially start at SG for the Clips, play with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, and make more money in L.A. than he would in Miami or Boston. He's meeting with the Heat on Thursday and the Clippers on Friday, but we'd be surprised if he doesn't end up choosing the Clippers (and money) over the Celtics and Heat.

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James said on Twitter Wednesday that Thursday is a "big day" for the Heat, implying that they might be on the verge of agreeing to terms with Celtics SG Ray Allen.
"2morrow is a big day for #HeatNation," Wade tweeted, which was later retweeted by LeBron. If the Heat sign Allen, it's possible Wade could spend a decent amount of time at small forward next season, while Allen would give the Heat a solid 3-point presence every night.

Free agent Ray Allen will visit the Miami Heat on Thursday and the Clippers on Friday.
He's also being courted by the Grizzlies and Timberwolves, but no meetings have been scheduled. There's still a decent chance he'll end up back in Boston next season, but it really depends on how much sweet talking he hears in Miami and Los Angeles.

The Celtics are reportedly willing to give Ray Allen a two-year, $12 million contract, double the annual salary the Heat can offer.
Miami is restricted to offering the mini-mid-level and it's hard to imagine Allen taking a huge pay cut for a perceived competitive advantage with the Heat. The Suns and a handful of other teams are reportedly interested in him also, but with KG back in Boston and a solid offer on the table, don't be surprised to see him in a green jersey next year.

The Grizzlies intend to offer Ray Allen their full mid-level exception, roughly $5 million, once free agency begins on Sunday morning.
Allen will also be offered Miami's $3 milion mid-level exception, the Suns have tons of cap space and may be interested, and the Celtics still hope to re-sign him. The teams who miss out on Ray will probably set their sights on other free agent guards such as Randy Foye, Nick Young, Jamal Crawford, and the Grizzlies' own O.J. Mayo.

The Heat have made Ray Allen their "prime offseason target" and intend to pursue him the moment free agency begins at 12:01am ET on Sunday.
Heat players have been wooing Allen privately, and the chance to win another championship will be alluring, but Miami can only offer the $3 million mini-mid-level exception. Allen has given no indications about which team he's favoring (constant rumors notwithstanding) and it's worth noting that the Celtics, who hold his Bird Rights, could pay him significantly more money.
