The Suns are reportedly interested in 37-year old free agent Ray Allen. Adrian Wojnarowski writes that the Heat are not considered the leaders for Allen's services, throwing some water on previous reports to the contrary. Aside from Allen's connections to the Phoenix front office and the benefit of having one of the league's best training staffs, it's odd that the Suns would choose to rebuild in this manner.

The "general consensus" is that unrestricted free agent Ray Allen will sign with the Heat, a source tells Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld. "Barring a change, he'll join the Heat," the source told Kennedy. We'll file this under speculation for the time being, but there is clearly interest on both ends when it comes to the possibility of Allen joining the Heat. The main hurdle the club will have to clear is convincing Allen to accept a lesser role in the pursuit of another championship.

There is "mutual interest" between unrestricted free agent Ray Allen and the Heat, multiple sources tell ESPN's Brian Windhorst. There has been a ton of previous speculation connecting Allen to Miami prior to this, so this shouldn't come as a huge shocker. As much as it may make some Celtics fans cringe, Allen would be a solid fit in South Beach as a shooter in the second unit. Allen could certainly draw a larger salary elsewhere, but the chance to win a championship ring could be too great to ignore.

Unrestricted free agents Ray Allen, Steve Nash, Chris Kaman, Grant Hill, Andre Miller and Jermaine O'Neal are players the Heat "could target" in free agency, sources tell Hoopsworld. We're taking this with a major grain of salt. Alex Kennedy is clear to write that these are players the team could go after, and he also writes that they'd have to take less money to join Miami. On paper, any of the players listed could be a good fit, but each would have to sacrifice in order to make it work. File this under speculation and remember it as we move forward into free agency.

As expected, Ray Allen had surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle on Wednesday. Allen is a free agent this summer and all signs point to him signing a multi-year deal with a bona fide championship contender. The rumor mill has already linked him to the Knicks, Heat and Clippers, but his options will be constrained if he intends to earn significantly more than the veteran's minimum.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is leading an attempt to build a new arena in Seattle, in the hopes of luring an NBA and NHL team to the city. The proposal, which will likely face a vote from city officials later in the summer, suggests around $290 million in private investment and $200 million in public funds via 30-year bonds.

The Heat and Clippers appeal to unrestricted free agent Ray Allen as potential destinations for next season, a source tells ESPN New York. We're taking this with a grain of salt. There has been a ton of speculation about Allen joining a contender capable of winning a title, and although both teams make sense, Allen would have to take a substantial pay cut to join either one. Despite the fact that he'll be coming off of ankle surgery, championship-hopeful teams will undoubtedly be looking to Allen in free agency.

The Bulls, Lakers, Knicks and Grizzlies are "thought to be interested" in pursuing unrestricted free agent Ray Allen. It's been widely speculated that Allen has played his final game with the Celtics, and the expectation has become that the sharpshooting guard will sign on with another championship contender. Despite the fact that he'll be coming off of ankle surgery, Allen will be a coveted free agent on the open market.

Updating an earlier item, Ray Allen will undergo surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle on Wednesday. Allen will be a free agent this summer and should have no shortage of suitors. His ankle issues limited his effectiveness late in the year, and there's no doubt that he is on the wrong side of the hill, but he is certainly capable of being an impact player for any number of teams.

Ray Allen (ankle) called undergoing surgery his "first priority." "If I can do it tomorrow, I would do it tomorrow," he said. "That's been my only issue." Allen's ankle noticeably hampered him throughout the postseason, and he'll need a procedure to remove bone spurs from the area. The surgery isn't expected to prevent him from being 100 percent healthy by the time next season begins.
