Rasheed Wallace has been officially hired by the Pistons as a player development coach.
It will be interesting to see how he influences guys like Josh Smith, Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, but it looks like he should be a great addition to Mo Cheeks' staff.

Rasheed Wallace is expected to become an assistant for the Pistons.
After sitting next to Wallace during Summer League, beat writer Vincent Goodwill says Wallace being a part of the Pistons coaching staff is basically a done deal. It might be fun to see him on the sidelines and his energy could help the young group in Detroit.

Rasheed Wallace told ESPN New York he's unsure of what the future holds for him within the Knicks organization.
Wallace remained with the team as an adviser of sorts after retiring from the NBA in April. Coach Mike Woodson is a big fan of having his positive attitude and veteran experience around the team, but Wallace said he's focused on his family for now. Sheed did say he'll keep his New York residence for the time being and didn't rule out joining the team in a similar role next season.

Updating a previous item, Rasheed Wallace has decided to retire.
Sheed's four-minute cameo on Monday night will be his final in the NBA. His left foot injury never healed to the point where he could play again, and it's likely to be a chronic condition for the rest of his life.

Rasheed Wallace (foot) will not play on Wednesday.
Wallace is out with foot soreness and at this point it's fair to wonder if he can even be a small contributor during the Knicks playoff run.

Mike Woodson refused to call Rasheed Wallace's latest foot injury a setback.
"I'm not saying it's a setback," Woodson said. "He was a little sore. He asked me to come out and I pulled him. We'll evaluate it a little more and see how he feels." Wallace lasted all of four minutes in his first game since December and it's hard to envision how he'll make an impact in the postseason if he plays at all.

Rasheed Wallace (foot) will not return to Monday's game.
He played just four minutes and scored two points. He's been hobbled all year and Sheed is unlikely to make much of an impact this season with his perpetual foot problems.

There is a "good chance" Rasheed Wallace (foot) will play Monday vs. Charlotte.
If Wallace does play, it's hard to see how it'll be for more than 8-12 minutes given all the time he's missed and the Knicks needing him to be fresh for the playoffs. He's not a fantasy option, but at least it looks like he's finally about to play again. The NBA is a better place with more Sheed.
