Beat writer Marc Berman suggests that the Knicks' medical staff believes Rasheed Wallace only has "so many games left" on his troublesome left foot.
Wallace is dealing with a stress reaction, which is the beginnings of a stress fracture. It's the kind of injury that gets worse with wear and tear, so the Knicks are just shutting Sheed down for now. They'll figure out a program to get him ready to contribute in the playoffs. That will likely mean limited minutes over the final 20 games of the season.

There is no update on the status of Rasheed Wallace (foot), who remains out indefinitely.
"He's still rehabbing," Mike Woodson said. "That's about it." While Wallace has scoffed at the notion he's done for the season, there is no timetable for his return.

Rasheed Wallace (foot) said that he will play again this season.
A previous report from ESPN New York stated that the Knicks were concerned Wallace could miss the rest of the season, but 'Sheed doesn't want his comeback attempt derailed by the injury. He remains out indefinitely right now, and there is no timetable for his return.

The Knicks are worried Rasheed Wallace (foot) will miss an extended period of time and possibly the rest of the season, two league sources told ESPNNewYork.com's Ian Begley.
Considering Wallace has already missed more than a month with the injury and there's been no clear return date set, we'd say the "extended period of time" has already happened. Now, whether Wallace returns this season appears to be of legitimate concern, although not for fantasy owners. Wallace had minimal value when healthy, but this report appears to confirm that Sheed's foot injury is much more serious than the team has let on.

The Knicks remain uncertain when Rasheed Wallace (foot) will return.
He's out indefinitely and his foot injury is obviously more serious than the team has disclosed since he's missed so much time.

Rasheed Wallace (foot) is doubtful to play on Thursday in London against the Pistons.
No surprise here, as Wallace's foot still isn't right. The Knicks haven't provided a timetable for Wallace's recovery, but he's been out since December 13.

Rasheed Wallace (foot) will miss his 14th straight game on Friday.
The Knicks have called Wallace's injury a "stress reaction," but the length of time he's been out indicates it could be something more serious than that. Mike Woodson expects him back this season, but nobody knows when he might return.
