Mike James got his second start in a row on Friday, scoring 12 points with one board, three assists and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Pistons. James was terrific in the fourth quarter and hit three big triples to help propel Dallas to the victory. His upside is nothing more than a timeshare with Darren Collison, so he's only worth keeping an eye on in most formats. Collison wasn't too bad off the bench with 11 points and eight assists in 29 minutes, so he's still worth holding in standard leagues.

Mike James will start at point guard against the Rockets on Wednesday. Darren Collison will move to the bench and this news comes out of the blue. Collison has been struggling and coach Rick Carlisle hasn't been bashful about bringin DC off the bench. Collison's owners shouldn't panic and he should still get plenty of minutes. Mike James is only worth a look in very deep leagues.

Mike James will remain with the Mavericks for the rest of the season. The team had to make a decision on the veteran after his second 10-day contract expired on Sunday night, so he'll hang around for the remainder of the year.

Mike James made his season debut with the Mavericks on Thursday against the Kings, scoring two points with one rebound and one steal in 15 minutes. He was with the Bulls last season and didn't really make a splash outside of a 16-point outing in February. James has sent Dominique Jones out of the rotation and surprisingly got some minutes down the stretch, so it wouldn't be a complete shock to see him take over as the starter much like Derek Fisher did earlier this year. To be clear, he is only on the radar in deep leagues.

The Mavericks will sign Mike James to 10-day contract this week. Rick Carlisle clearly isn't sold on Darren Collison as a starter, but it's hard to imagine the 37-year-old James as anything but a temporary backup PG for the Mavs.

Mike James is signing with the Texas Legends of the D-League in hopes of eventually joining the Mavericks. James reportedly has no guarantees from Dallas, so he'll attempt to use the D-League to show he has something left. The 37-year-old likely wouldn't be in line for major minutes in Dallas, but he could potentially cut into Darren Collison's heavy minutes of late. With little competition for playing time, Collison has averaged 37 minutes and 17.2 points in his last five games.
