NBA journeyman Mike James could be on the Knicks' radar as a 3rd-string point guard. James has a long history of injuries in his nine-season NBA career, and he spent most of last season on the Knicks' D-League affiliate in Erie, where he averaged 21.1 points, 2.1 threes, 3.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals. He won't have fantasy value even with Derrick Rose recovering from knee surgery.

Johnson confirmed that it wasn't a great sign for Derrick Rose's status for Wednesday's game against the Heat, and called it "injury insurance." If the Bulls decide to pull the plug on Rose, it wouldn't be the greatest sign for Luol Deng (wrist), either.

Mike James' 10-day contract expired last Thursday. The Bulls chose not to bring James back on another 10-day over the All-Star break. It confirms that they are fully confident in the health of Derrick Rose (back).

Mike James played well off Chicago's bench on Saturday, scoring 16 points with three rebounds and seven assists in 23 minutes. James' play will be irrelevant once Derrick Rose returns, but owners in deep leagues should file this away in case Rose goes down again. Neither C.J. Watson nor John Lucas could stop Deron Williams -- James couldn't either, but he at least played him tougher.

Mike James was signed by CHI on Thursday February 16.

The Bulls are planning to re-sign Mike James to a 10-day contract. With Derrick Rose's back ailing, James will return to the Bulls as depth at the end of the bench. It will be the second time this season Chicago brought in the veteran.
