Bulls PG Mike James came off the bench on Saturday for nine points and 10 assists in just 16 minutes of action. James is a veteran who was recently called up from the D-League out of desperation, and tonight the Bulls were without both Derrick Rose and John Lucas. He has no fantasy appeal.

The Bulls have signed veteran PG Mike James out of the D-League, and he's hoping to join the team in time for their Wednesday game vs. the Wizards. James has been around long enough that he should be able to play without having practiced at all with the Bulls, but the bigger story is what this says about Derrick Rose's toe injury. Chicago wouldn't be rushing a 36-year-old PG into their lineup if they weren't concerned.

Mike James is set to join the Erie BayHawks of the D-League. The 36-year-old has averaged 10.5 points in his NBA career, but hasn't appeared in a game since the 2009-10 season. Even if he does make it back to the NBA, it's unlikely he'll find a situation where he earns significant playing time.

Mike James will enter the NBDL player pool according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Another veteran seeking a comeback will try to use the D-League to return to the NBA. He has played for nine teams in his career, highlighted by a championship run in 2004 with Detroit.
