Thornton willdraw the start in Tuesday's tilt with the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Thornton will start in place of Bradley Beal. It is possible that the Wizards are opting to shut Beal down after an injury plagued season. If that is the case Thornton will the potential finish the season with a relatively high workload.

Thornton scored 18 points (7-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT) to go with five rebounds and a steal over 22 minutes in a 99-94 victory over the 76ers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Leading into Thursday's game, Thornton hadn't made much of an impression with his new team; averaging 4.5 points over 13 minutes through four games as a member of the Wizards. It was Thornton's barrage off the bench, however, that helped Washington secure a tight victory over the 76ers. The Wizards are currently 1.5 games behind the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. If his play continues at this pace, Thornton could play a large role in Washington's success down the stretch.

Thornton practiced with the Wizards on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thornton agreed to a contract with the Wizards for the rest of the season on Wednesday, and his presence at practice Thursday is an indication that he'll likely be available off of Randy Wittman's bench Friday against the Jazz. If that's not the case, his next opportunity to make his Wizards debut will come Saturday in Denver.

Thornton is reportedly being signed by the Wizards, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thornton was waived by the Rockets in late February after a botched trade that attempted to send him to Detroit at the trade deadline. He will now provide depth off the bench and compete for playing time against the likes of Bradley Beal (pelvis), Alan Anderson, Garrett Temple, Kelly Oubre, and Jared Dudley. It is likely that due to the lack of space on the depth chart, Thornton will be of little to no fantasy value.

Thornton has officially been waived by the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
As reported earlier in the day, the Rockets and Thornton will part ways a little more than a week after the team attempted to trade him to Detroit at the deadline. After the trade fell through, Thornton returned to Houston for two games but was inactive for both. He'll now seek to sign on with another team, most likely a contender, and there may be moderate interest from teams like Cleveland, Atlanta, Boston and Oklahoma City, which all struck out in their respective pursuits of Joe Johnson, who will sign with the Heat.

Thornton is expected to be waived by the Rockets, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thornton has been embroiled in a messy situation since the Rockets attempted to trade him to Detroit at the deadline. The deal was ultimately voided, sending Thornton back to Houston, but he has not played in the Rockets' two games since the failed trade. Assuming Thornton is ultimately waived, he'll likely look to sign on with a contending team, though it's unclear exactly what level of interest he'll draw. The 28-year-old is a proven scorer, but he's a streaky player who's shooting only 40.0 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from three on the season.

Thornton (coach's decision) won't be available for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thornton was returned to the Rockets on Monday after last week's trade that sent him and Donatas Motiejunas to the Pistons was voided after Pistons doctors weren't comfortable with the medical reports on Motiejunas' back. Though Thornton and Motiejunas are now back on the Rockets' roster, neither player has rejoined the team as of yet, so both players will remain inactive for the time being. Once he's back in the fold for the Rockets, Thornton will only occupy a limited role off the bench.

Thornton is expected to be available Thursday in Portland, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
After the trade that sent Thornton to Detroit was voided Monday, Thornton will return to the Rockets, and while the team won't have him Tuesday versus Utah, he's expected to play Thursday night. "The expectations are that he'll come meet us in Portland and come play there for us," Bickerstaff said. "He'll fill a similar role, do what he's done for us in the past." Prior to the failed trade, Thornton was averaging just under 19 minutes per game and averaging 10.0 points per game on 40 percent shooting.

Both Thornton and Donatas Motiejunas will return to the Rockets after the deal that sent them to Detroit last week was voided Monday, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Concerns about the long-term health of Motiejunas' back are what prompted the trade to be voided, and all three players involved will now return to their original teams. Thornton and Motiejunas will head back to Houston, while Joel Anthony, who was traded to the Rockets, then the 76ers, will rejoin the Pistons. Expect Thornton to slot back into the role he held before the traded deadline, as a consistent rotational guard off the bench.

Updating a previous report, Thornton will not be available to play in Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both Thornton and Donatas Motiejunas went through their physicals with the Pistons, but because they're still being evaluated, neither have been cleared to join the team. They'll miss Sunday's game against the Pelicans, but should have a chance at making there debut Monday against the Cavaliers.
