As reported earlier in the day, the Rockets and Thornton will part ways a little more than a week after the team attempted to trade him to Detroit at the deadline. After the trade fell through, Thornton returned to Houston for two games but was inactive for both. He'll now seek to sign on with another team, most likely a contender, and there may be moderate interest from teams like Cleveland, Atlanta, Boston and Oklahoma City, which all struck out in their respective pursuits of Joe Johnson, who will sign with the Heat.
