Monroe signed a 10-day contract with the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Wednesday that Monroe was on track to join Washington, but the veteran center wasn't eligible to sign with the Wizards until his existing 10-day contract with the Timberwolves expired. Though Minnesota didn't have a need for Monroe with centers Karl-Anthony Towns and Naz Reid having since exited the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the 31-year-old looked good in his first NBA action since the 2018-19 season. Over three appearances with Minnesota, Monroe averaged 6.7 points, 7.0 boards, 3.7 assists and 1.3 blocks in 21.0 minutes while shooting 64.3 percent from the field. With Washington, Monroe will likely slot in as the primary backup to Daniel Gafford until Montrezl Harrell exits the protocols.

Monroe isn't with the team for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old's 10-day contract is set to conclude at the end of Wednesday's contest, and he plans to join the Wizards on another 10-day pact Thursday. The Timberwolves have returned to full strength with D'Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns back from the COVID-19 protocols, so Monroe was unlikely to have much of a role even if available.

Monroe, whose 10-day contract with the Timberwolves ends following Wednesday's game against the Thunder, plans to sign a 10-day deal with the Wizards on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Wolves are nearly at full health, so the organization with no longer need Monroe's services once his deal expires. That said, Monroe is still expected to be available for Minnesota's game Wednesday, though he's unlikely to be included in the rotation if Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) gains clearance to return to the lineup. Meanwhile, the Wizards have been hit harder by COVID-19-related absences of late, and Monroe would be a prime candidate to fill in for Montrezl Harrell (illness) as the top backup center behind starter Daniel Gafford in the short term.

Monroe chipped in 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals across 25 minutes during Monday's 108-103 victory over the Celtics.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe made his long-awaited return to the NBA after years of playing overseas and in the G League, and the former Pistons big man thrived on both ends of the court. He should keep playing off the bench as long as the Timberwolves continue to deal with a COVID-19 outbreak. They currently have their top three centers sidelined due to the league's health and safety protocols.

Monroe will be available for Monday's game against the Celtics, Dane Moore of BringMeTheNews.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Wolves signed Monroe just over 24 hours ago, but he's joined the team in Minneapolis and will be available to play Monday as the team deals with a number of COVID-related absences. With Naz Reid and Karl-Anthony Towns among those absences, Monroe could be pressed into action right away as Minnesota plays on the first half of a back-to-back set. Monroe last played in the NBA during the 2018-19 season, splitting time with the Celtics, 76ers and Raptors. Prior to joining the Timberwolves, Monroe was playing in the G League for the Capital City Go-Go.

Monroe signed a 10-day contract with Minnesota on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Timberwolves have several players sidelined due to the league's health and safety protocols, so Monroe will provide additional depth in the frontcourt. Across 12 G League appearances this year, the 31-year-old has averaged 10.4 points and 8.8 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game.

Monroe had 17 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 13 rebounds and two assists across 25 minutes off the bench in Saturday's loss against Delaware.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe has looked impressive for Capital City in recent weeks and delivered yet another double-double, something that is slowly becoming a trend with him despite the fact he's coming off the bench regularly. He's been very effective of late and should remain a reliable two-way threat for the Go-Go.

Monroe had 12 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and a steal across 20 minutes off the bench in Thursday's loss to Delaware.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe is not expected to start anytime soon due to the strong play of Jaime Echenique near the rim, but he's making the most of the limited minutes he's been enjoying. Monroe is averaging 9.4 points and 8.8 rebounds across only 21.5 minutes per contest.

Monroe registered 14 points (4-4 FG, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 26 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss against Raptors 905.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran big man has yet to earn a consistent starting role in the G League, but he has been delivering a few decent games from time to time. He only has one double-double but four appearances with double-digit rebounds, and he is also completing that with 9.1 points per game, a decent tally considering he's coming off the bench on a regular basis.

Monroe posted 12 points (3-9 FG, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block across 16 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win over College Park.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe has managed to deliver quite a few games with decent numbers off the bench, but he hasn't done enough to become a regular starter just yet. Monroe hasn't generated lots of interest from NBA teams, so he should remain playing his trade in the G League for the foreseeable future.
