Eric Bledsoe (shin) returned to action in Friday's win, scoring 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, two assists and three steals in 28 minutes off the bench. Goran Dragic is humming along and it would appear that he is the team's point guard going forward, but tonight's result is more a function of Bledsoe's return than anything. The team has always had the option of splitting the two up between the first and second units, but their value is going to remain more or less consistent wherever they play. Look for Bledsoe to start handling the rock a lot more as he gets up to speed, too.

Eric Bledsoe is available to play against the Jazz on Friday and will not start. No update came until after the 9:00 EST tip time, but Bledsoe did go through pre-game warmups. Gerald Green will start and could see his minutes decrease tonight.

Eric Bledsoe (shin) is a game-time decision against the Jazz on Friday. "It will be a game-time decision," coach Jeff Hornacek said. "He looked pretty good at shootaround today, compared to what it has been. So we're hopeful, maybe, that he will be able to play." This sounds better than usual and Hornacek has usually said how Bledsoe had to hobble through shootaround. It's not a lock that he'll play, but there is some optimism. He has been out for six games and Gerald Green has started in his absence.

The MRI on Eric Bledsoe's shin was negative and he was diagnosed with a bruised shin. A player missing 10 days due to a bruised shin is extremely rare, so it's good to hear there is nothing structurally wrong. Bledsoe is still a game-time decision to face the Blazers on Wednesday, but he wasn't able to move well at shootaround earlier today. We'd expect Gerald Green to start.

Eric Bledsoe is a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Blazers. He had an MRI and was "hobbling around" this morning, so probably won't be playing. "They don't believe anything is wrong," Hornacek said of the medical staff. "They just want to make sure." Bledsoe owners should have another alternative lined up for a 13-game night. Gerald Green has been a capable starter and will likely another start. The Suns will play in Utah on Friday.

Eric Bledsoe will have an MRI on his bruised shin to rule out further injuries, according to coach Jeff Hornacek. "They don't believe anything's wrong," said Hornacek, "but they want to make sure." The move is reasonable since Bledsoe has already missed five games over the course of 10 days, and said he feels pain just from walking. To reiterate, this is a precautionary MRI and there's no cause for panic.

In the AP writeup of Monday's game against the Heat, coach Jeff Hornacek was quoted as saying "maybe Wednesday" when talking about Eric Bledsoe's (shin) return. This goes against the NBA.com pregame report (in the prior blurb) that said Hornacek expects him to play on Wednesday. Owners may want to back off a bit on expecting him to play Wednesday until we get some clarity.

Coach Jeff Hornacek expects Eric Bledsoe (shin) to return on Wednesday against the Blazers. This is about as definitive report as one could expect and hopefully you still have time to get him into lineups for a now three-game week. After Wednesday's game the Suns play the Jazz in a home-and-home, back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday, so there could conceivably be some chance he's rested. At this stage, this is a risk we're willing to take in weekly leagues following this report.

Eric Bledsoe (shin) will not play Monday night against the Heat. "It's very stiff and with every step he takes, it hurts him," coach Jeff Hornacek said of his star guard. The coach added that he's hopeful for Bledsoe to play on Wednesday. This will be his fifth game on the sidelines for a bruised shin, which is unexpected to say the least. Gerald Green will start again and has been terrific in the role so far.
