Eric Bledsoe's right meniscus was removed during surgery on Friday, not repaired, which should allow him to return this season.
John Gambodoro of Arizona Sports offers an unofficial 4-6 week timetable but the team has only said that Bledsoe "will pursue a possible return to action during the second half of this NBA season." Bledsoe already had his right meniscus repaired in 2011 and the decision to remove it may put him at greater risk of arthritis, while also speeding up his near-term recovery time. Hopefully the Suns' renowned training staff will keep him healthy for the conclusion of the 2013-14 season and beyond, as the Suns are expected to match any offer "within reason" to keep him as a restricted FA this summer.

A clearer picture of Eric Bledsoe's (knee surgery) timeline is expected Friday.
Bledsoe will have right knee surgery in Phoenix on Friday to repair a torn meniscus. It's nowhere near as serious as a ligament tear, but the concern is that he also had surgery to repair his right knee meniscus in October of 2011. Bledsoe, who is set to become a restricted free agent after this season, will be putting his long-term health first. We're expecting an extended absence.

Eric Bledsoe (knee) has a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee.
He had surgery to repair his right lateral meniscus back on Oct. 7, 2011 and missed about four months before returning to game action. Bledsoe's treatment for this injury is not yet known, but the possibility of season-ending surgery could be on the table. For what it's worth, 6-8 weeks tends to be the normal prognosis for lateral meniscus tears. Bledsoe owners in non-shallow leagues might want to wait until the Suns announce a timetable for their star guard. Meanwhile, Gerald Green should not be on any waiver wires in fantasy leagues.

Eric Bledsoe (knee sprain) did not make the trip with the Suns to Chicago and he could join them later in the week.
He said he's feeling better on Tuesday from his knee sprain. The Suns are on a big road trip right now, traveling to Chicago on Tuesday, Minnesota on Wednesday, Memphis on Friday, Detroit on Saturday and New York on Monday before returning home on Jan. 15 to host the Lakers. It's a good sign to hear Bledsoe has a chance to play on the trip, but he is still expected to be out until Jan. 11. Gerald Green will start while Bledsoe is out and should be owned in all leagues.

Eric Bledsoe (sprained knee) will miss at least one week, according to coach Jeff Hornacek.
In addition to thrusting Gerald Green into the starting lineup at SG, Bledsoe's absence means more touches for Goran Dragic, who is coming off a career-best 33-point performance. The Suns, who surprisingly hold the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, are 3-4 without Bledsoe in the lineup this season.

Eric Bledsoe (knee) did not practice on Friday due to swelling in his right knee.
He suffered his knee injury in Monday's blowout win, but did return to action. Bledsoe was scratched from Thursday's game right before the tip and now he looks to be questionable to play on Saturday vs. the Bucks. Gerald Green would get another start while Goran Dragic would take on most of the scoring burden. There should be an update on Bledsoe at Saturday's shootaround.

Eric Bledsoe (knee) "might" be able to play Saturday if the swelling in his knee goes down.
The injury that turned Bledsoe into a late scratch on Thursday night is not serious. He's day to day with a right knee sprain suffered on Monday. "I just tweaked my knee a little bit," Bledsoe said after Thursday's loss. "I knew something was up when I did it. I couldn't really move. It was hurting and then I couldn't really move today. When I went through (morning) shootaround, it felt OK and then I went to see the doctor and he advised me not to play." We wouldn't be falling all over ourselves to add Gerald Green.
