McDermott will start at small forward for Tuesday's preseason opener against the Nets,Ian Begley of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fellow wing Courtney Lee started 74-of-77 games he played in with the Knicks last season, so it's a least somewhat notable that McDermott is being rolled out with the starters in the opener. That being said, coach Jeff Hornacek is expected to try different lineups throughout the preseason, so there's a chance the two ultimately flip flop between the bench and top unit until a starter is announced prior to the regular season. For what it's worth, McDermott also ran with the first unit during Sunday's intra-squad scrimmage.

McDermott worked with the first unit during Sunday's intra-squad scrimmage, Ian Begley of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both McDermott and Enes Kanter, who both came over from Oklahoma City in the Carmelo Anthony deal, worked with the starters at Sunday's intra-squad scrimmage, potentially hinting that the Knicks may move veteran Courtney Lee to the bench. While Lee is a superior defender to McDermott, the Creighton product offers more size and is a superior three-point shooter. Expect the pair to compete for the starting spot throughout the preseason, and it's certainly possible that both players could be given opportunities to start once the regular season rolls around.

McDermott has been sent to New York, alongside Enes Kanter, in exchange for Carmelo Anthony, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott spent just 22 games with the Thunder after being traded from the Bulls, and averaged 9.0 points, and 2.7 rebounds in 2016-17 across his time with both teams. In his three seasons, he has been impressive as a deep threat and as a scorer, but lacks defensively. With the Knicks, he may see a bigger role, as he'll face much less competition for playing time than he would have with Oklahoma City in 2017-18. There will likely be more updates on his role in the Knicks rotation going forward.

McDermott (knee) played three minutes Sunday in the Thunder's 118-87 loss to the Rockets in Game 1, providing three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt).
EDGE Analysis
McDermott had missed the Thunder's final three games of the regular season while battling the sore left knee, and though he was able to suit up in the postseason opener, it doesn't look like he's a member of coach Billy Donovan's rotation for the time being. Alex Abrines and Jerami Grant seemingly represent the Thunder's top two wings off the bench behind starters Victor Oladipo and Andre Roberson.

McDermott (knee) will be held out of action Wednesday against the Nuggets, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Thunder will play nearly all of their regulars in what's ultimately a meaningless regular season finale, but they'll be without Andre Roberson (rest), as well as McDermott, who's still nursing a sore left knee. This will mark his third consecutive absence, but the hope is that he'll be good to go when the Thunder begin postseason play Saturday or Sunday.

McDermott (knee) will be held out of Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott is back in Oklahoma City undergoing further evaluations on his sore left knee, so he'll miss a second straight game as the Thunder look toward the postseason. As was the case Sunday against Denver, expect Kyle Singler to be the primary beneficiary of McDermott's absence Monday.

McDermott is dealing with a sore left knee and won't play in Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Thunder failed to report any injury for McDermott prior to the game, but he'll end up being a late scratch with a sore knee. While it doesn't sound like too serious of an ailment, guys like Jerami Grant, Semaj Christon and Kyle Singler could see added minutes off the bench on the wings.

McDermott is expected to come off the bench in Sunday's game against the Nuggets, ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andre Roberson (knee) is returning from a one-game absence and isn't expected to face any restrictions, so McDermott should reprise his usual role as the top wing off the bench with Alex Abrines (knee) still unavailable. Even if McDermott picked up his second start in a row, he wouldn't have made for an especially appealing DFS option after he only mustered 11 points (4-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and five rebounds across 40 minutes Friday against the Suns. Expect McDermott to dip under the 30-minute mark now that Roberson is back in the fold.

McDermott will draw the star at small forward for Friday's matchup against the Suns, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott will get the start for Andre Roberson, who is sidelined with a knee injury. The 25-year-old posted ten points, seven rebounds, and three triples across 32 minutes in the Thunder's victory over the Grizzlies Wednesday when Roberson went down. Look for him to see a similar workload Friday.

McDermott tallied 21 points (8-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and five rebounds across 21 minutes in a 110-94 win over the Kings on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his standing as a bench player, McDermott is occasionally capable of carrying a team's offense for spurts due to his hot shooting, and he turned in his best performance in a Thunder uniform Saturday to buoy the attack. Even with the outburst, McDermott is averaging just 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 three-pointers in 22.2 minutes per game over his 12 appearances with the Thunder since being acquired at the trade deadline, so it will be difficult to wring much value out of him in the majority of leagues.
