McDermott didn't practice Wednesday due to a sore ankle, J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star reports.

McDermott apparently rolled his ankle in the game against the Hawks on Monday and although it doesn't appear too severe, the Creighton product might have to miss a contest. Indiana travels to Chicago on Friday and the former first-round pick will likely end up being a game-time call.

McDermott managed 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and one steal in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 92-91 loss to the Cavaliers.

EDGE Analysis

McDermott has reached double figures in scoring nine times over the last 15 games, this after doing so in just four of the first 16 tilts. The 26-year-old forward seems to be growing more comfortable here in his first season with the team, but he's primarily a three-point specialist who contributes minimally in most categories.

McDermott totaled 21 points (7-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, and one assist in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 109-104 victory over Phoenix.

EDGE Analysis

McDermott matched his season-high from the previous night, scoring 21 points including five triples. The 21 points are nice but as is the case with McDermott, he offered basically nothing outside of scoring and three's. He has now scored in double-digits in four of his last five games which coincides with the absence of Victor Oladipo. McDermott is fine to stream in if you need points but as soon as Oladipo returns, he will likely return to very limited production.

McDermott registered 21 points (8-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes in the Pacers' 121-88 win over the Jazz on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

McDermott's scoring explosion was somewhat of a surprise, although he'd posted 12 and 15 points, respectively, in two of his prior three games. The 26-year-old's production has been hard to trust, however, as his minutes have often been stuck in the teens, which recently helped lead to an 11-game stretch where he was either scoreless or in single digits on the scoreboard. If his recent playing time pattern (over 20 minutes in four of the last five) holds up over the long term, McDermott would have value in deeper formats for his scoring and three-point upside.

McDermott is starting during Saturday's matchup against the Grizzlies.

EDGE Analysis

With coach Nate McMillan resting his starters, McDermott will get a chance to see an uptick in minutes. He shot 1-for-8 during the Pacers' first preseason contest.

McDermott has his qualifying offer withdrawn by the Mavericks on Wednesday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Zach Lowe of ESPN.com.

Lowe also noted that the Mavs are still interested in keeping McDermott, but rescinded the offer for financial reasons. After being dealt from New York to Dallas last season, McDermott played 26 games, averaging 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22.9 minutes. Though Dallas will reportedly try to re-sign the fourth-year player, he could garner similar offers from other teams, as he shot 42.6 percent from beyond the arc last season and 49.4 percent after joining the Mavs.

McDermott was tendered a qualifying offer from the Mavericks on Tuesday, Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News reports.

McDermott was dealt from the Knicks to the Mavericks at the trade deadline last season and he ended playing in 26 games for Dallas, averaging 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 22.9 minutes. Most notably, he knocked down 42.6 percent of his three-point attempts, so the Mavericks likely value his ability to help space the floor. McDermott will be able to sign offer sheets from other teams in the league once free agency opens, though the Mavericks will have the opportunity to match any contract he receives.

McDermott contributed 7.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists over 81 games played with the Knicks and Mavericks this season.

EDGE Analysis

McDermott missed the final game of the season which prevented him from seeing action in every contest this season. Most of the 25-year-old's statistical averages and shooting percentages declined from last season though. McDermott has a qualifying offer of about $4.5 million for next season.

McDermott (elbow) has been ruled out for Tuesday's season finale against the Suns, Dwain Price of the Mavericks' official website reports.

EDGE Analysis

McDermott will get the final game of the season off to nurse a bruised left elbow, along with a plethora of teammates. This will leave Dorian Finney-Smith and Jalen Jones to absorb the majority of minutes at small forward for the contest.

McDermott is listed as questionable for Tuesday's regular season finale against the Suns due to a left elbow contusion.

EDGE Analysis

This is the first word of McDermott having suffered any sort of elbow bruise, and he likely picked it up in Sunday's loss to the 76ers. Given that it is the last game of the season for the Mavericks, there's a possibility that they don't force him onto the court Tuesday, but another update should come following the team's morning shootaround.
