McDermott will move back to the bench Friday against the Pistons, Bobby Karalla of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott drew the start at power forward on Wednesday when the Mavs fielded one of the more shocking starting lineups of the season, but with a number of regulars back in the mix Friday, the former Creighton standout will move back to a reserve role. Dallas will go with Dwight Powell, Harrison Barnes and Johnathan Motley up front.

McDermott will start Wednesday's game against Orlando, Mavs radio play-by-play man Chuck Cooperstein reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mavs will roll out one of the more extreme late-season lineups we've seen this season with a number of regulars popping up on the injury report. Dallas will go with J.J. Barea and Aaron Harrison in the backcourt, with McDermott, Dorian Finney-Smith and Jonathan Motley starting up front.

McDermott totaled 15 points (6-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 103-97 victory over Sacramento.
EDGE Analysis
That makes back-to-back double-digit performances for McDermott, although he has really only produced in the scoring column. He has very limited upside, and would only really be worth a look if you need three-pointers. and even then, there is plenty of risk.

McDermott produced 14 points (4-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and one steal across 25 minutes in Saturday's 102-98 loss to the Hornets.
EDGE Analysis
Despite an overwhelmingly scoring-heavy stat line, it was an impressive showing for the fourth-year wing. McDermott has made good use of his buckets over the last pair of games, draining seven of 12 attempts during that span, including five of nine tries from distance. The 26-year-old continues to serve as a reliable contributor of three-pointers as well on most nights, which has helped lead to five double-digit scoring tallies over the last 10 contests.

McDermott will head back to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans, Will Guillory of the Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott picked up the spot start on Saturday with Harrison Barnes getting the night off, posting six points (3-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and five rebounds across 42 minutes. As expected, Barnes will be rejoining the lineup Tuesday, so McDermott slides back to his typical reserve role and will see a significant drop off in his workload after logging a whopping 42 minutes Saturday.

McDermott will start at small forward for Saturday's matchup with the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
The Mavericks will be without the likes of J.J. Barea (ribs), Harrison Barnes (rest) and Dorian Finney-Smith (rest) on Saturday, which allows McDermott to pick up the spot start at small forward. With a hefty workload in store following the promotion, McDermott should see an uptick in production and makes for a potential low-cost DFS option for Saturday's slate.

McDermott produced 20 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds and one blocked shot in 25 minutes during Saturday's 114-80 win over the Grizzlies.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott's 20 points matched his second-highest total of the season. His effective play on Saturday was largely due to extended time at a few different positions. While his home is usually at the wing, he played some time in the backcourt as well. While he can pop up with a game like this from time to time he's a borderline play in most contests due to his volatility. He'll often get the minutes to produce, however.

McDermott tallied 12 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one steal across 21 minutes in Saturday's 97-90 loss to the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott poured in nine of his 12 points in a 27-point second quarter for the Mavericks, logging his highest scoring total since joining the team at the trade deadline. The four-year veteran now has back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts and has logged at least 21 minutes in four of the five games he's played thus far in a Dallas uniform. With what appears to be a steady second-unit role, McDermott could be of some value to those in deeper formats down the stretch.

McDermott will shift back to a bench role for Tuesday's game against the Kings, Bobby Karalla of Mavs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott picked up the start with Dirk Nowitzki (ankle) on the sidelines Sunday against the Rockets, posting eight points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal across 33 minutes. However, Nowitzki has since been cleared and will reclaim his role in the top unit, which sends McDermott back to the bench. McDermott played 21 minutes off the bench in his debut, so it seems likely that his playing time will fall closer to that number than what he logged in Sunday's start.

McDermott had eight points (3-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four assists, three rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes during Sunday's 104-97 loss to the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
McDermott received his first start for the Mavericks as the team went small with Dirk Nowitzki (ankle) on the sidelines. In his two games since joining the team, he has seen a similar role to the one he had in New York. There is a chance he gets more playing time towards the back-end of the season but until then, leave him on the waivers.
