Darren Collison could start next season if restricted free agent George Hill signs with another team.
Coach Frank Vogel said that he's hopeful Hill also returns, but he acknowledged that Collison's role could expand if Hill does not come back. "I could definitely see a situation where Darren, one of the most driven players I've ever been around, comes back and outplays George," said Vogel. Collison averaged just 10.8 points and 4.9 assists in 56 games as a starter this year.

Darren Collison acknowledged that his speed can be a competitive advantage against the Heat.
"I know my speed and quickness is very effective and it can impact the game," he said. "As long as I try and be aggressive, I can create opportunities not only for myself, but for my teammates, too." Collison finished Game 4 with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting and was a more effective player than George Hill, and it wouldn't be surprising to see more of Collison in Game 5.

Darren Collison came off the bench and hit 9-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 19 points, six assists and three steals as the Pacers pulled away late from the Magic for a 105-87 win and a date with the Heat in Round 2.
Collison was fabulous tonight and many of his ex-fantasy owners are wondering where this kind of play was over the last couple years. George Hill, who replaced Collison as the starting point guard, had 15 points, David West added 12 and Roy Hibbert had 11 points tonight, but it was the combo of Collison and Danny Granger, who led the team with 25 points, that put the Pacers over the top late in the final game of the series.

Darren Collison called coming off the bench a "major adjustment."
George Hill started at point guard while Collison was battling a groin injury, and Frank Vogel recently said that Hill will remain in the starting lineup the rest of the way. Collison, who had just four points and four assists with six turnovers on Monday, hasn't exactly impressed when playing with the starting lineup. He's handed out 10 or more assists just three times all year.

Darren Collison played 31 minutes on Monday against the Pistons, scoring four points on 1-of-8 shooting with three rebounds, four assists, and six turnovers.
Collison can claim that he is rusty, but he's surely pressing after losing his starting job to George Hill after Hill played like a D-Leaguer all season long. Now Hill is realizing his potential like most thought he would from the jump, and Collison has one more game Wednesday to get things right. Our guess is that Frank Vogel gives him a big helping of minutes, assuming he's healthy.

Darren Collison will come off the bench Monday even though George Hill is resting.
Coach Frank Vogel wants Collison to gain continuity with the second unit because that's where he'll be in the playoffs. Look for a pretty even timeshare with A.J. Price Monday night.

Darren Collison (groin) backed up the PG position in his return to action on Saturday, finishing with eight points (3-of-3 FGs), two assists and two turnovers in 16 minutes.
DC has had a tough season and isn't expected to challenge for the starting gig, as the Pacers are playing very well with George Hill at the controls. He would start for most NBA teams, however, which points to the Pacers' enviable backcourt depth.

Pacers head coach Frank Vogel announced that George Hill will remain the starting PG, even when Darren Collison returns from his groin injury.
For those of you still holding onto Collison, this could be the final straw. And for those of you in fantasy playoff leagues, Hill looks to have moved past Collison.

Darren Collison (groin) is now questionable for the beginning of the playoffs.
Frank Vogel and the Indy brass should have recognized a player trying to protect his starting job, as Collison clearly returned too early and now his ability to contribute during the playoffs is in question. Collison had a better season than George Hill, who struggled all year long, but now Hill is in the driver's seat for the rest of the regular season and likely beyond.

Darren Collison's (groin) return date to the lineup is "uncertain."
Collison tested out his sore groin prior to the game, but Frank Vogel encouraged the point guard to shut it down on Tuesday. The Pacers want him to be 100 percent before he returns, which makes sense considering the team is rolling without him.
