Rick Carlisle called Darren Collison the Mavericks "starting point guard" following Tuesday's win. Collison had 12 points, three boards, six assists and five steals in 30 minutes, and Carlisle made it clear that Collison is "our starting point guard." It sounds as if Dominique Jones' promotion to the starting lineup was temporary and Collison's benching was designed to light a fire under him.

Darren Collison shockingly came off the bench behind Dominique Jones on Tuesday but responded with 12 points, three rebounds, six assists and a season-high five steal in 30 minutes of the loss. The fact they Mavs lost to the Sixers probably works in Collison's favor and we're guessing Rick Carlisle was simply trying to send a message of "play some defense" to Collison. It worked and he played well, while DoJo flopped in the start. We fully expect Collison to get his job back sooner than later, and owners should not do anything drastic with one of their starting point guards.

Dominique Jones is starting Tuesday's game at PG for the Mavericks, sending Darren Collison to the bench. This is wholly unexpected since we've heard no injury reports for Collison -- Rick Carlisle did criticize Collison's defense recently, however, which could provide some context for the switch. "For a smaller guy, he's just got to make more of a stand. We've got to help him out in a lot of those situations. He's making strides overall with what we want him to do offensively. But defensively is where he can make the greatest gains." This isn't news for anyone who has watched Collison play, but it's worth noting.

Collison has been receiving the ire of beat writers for his inconsistent play, and no longer looks like he is going to smash his ADP as we had previously said. He has late round value over his last six games, and will be one of the first guys to lose touches when Dirk Nowitzki returns. Owners may want to move him after one of his upcoming big nights.

Darren Collison scored 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, five assists, and two steals in the Mavs' 90-82 loss to the Wolves on Monday. Collison was the only Mavs player to excel tonight in the box score, and O.J. Mayo was finally slowed down a bit. Mayo scored 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting with five rebounds, two threes, and one assist, in his first game with less than 20 points in six contests.

Darren Collison played 39 minutes and scored 14 points with six assists and five turnovers in Saturday's loss to the Bobcats. Kemba Walker's eight steals came at the hands of Collison, but tonight was a little bit of a fluke for the former Pacer. He came in averaging just 1.7 turnovers to go with his 7.3 assists. Collison looks like he should smash his ADP from the second half of standard drafts.

Darren Collison hit just 1-of-8 shots for four points, three rebounds, eight assists and a steal in 30 minutes in Friday's loss to the Knicks. Collison has been a great fantasy point guard this season and still came through with eight dimes. He had a bad night against Raymond Felton, but should remain in all starting lineups going forward.

Darren Collison posted season-highs of 18 points and 10 assists on Saturday, as the Mavericks blew past the Bobcats. Collison did his damage in 32 minutes and he looks like a fantasy-league steal at this early stage of the season. The speedy PG didn't get to the FT line, but he made 8-of-12 FGs, including 2-of-2 from downtown.

Darren Collison hit 8-of-12 shots for 17 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals in Tuesday's easy win over the Lakers. We have Collison pegged for a bounce-back season running the Mavs' offense and he ran circles around Steve Nash tonight. He'll get a chance to do it again on Wednesday against rookie Damian Lillard, and there's a good chance he'll have more assists in the next one.
