Darren Collison had 12 points, four rebounds, six assists and a steal in 34 minutes on Friday.
He's struggled to score in the preseason but we're still thinking he's going to have a nice year in Dallas. He's been available late in drafts, along with guys like Greivis Vasquez, George Hill and Kirk Hinrich, proving that you can still find some point guard talent late in fantasy drafts this year.

Darren Collison had seven points, five boards, two assists and a three in 22 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday.
This was Collison's fifth game in a row where he failed to crack double-digit scoring. His two assists were also a preseason low and was averaging 6.5 assists per game. Collison offers very nice upside and still holds plenty of value even though he doesn't have eye-popping stats this October.

Darren Collison didn't score on Wednesday, but added six assists to go with his three turnovers in 21 minutes.
His only field goal attempts were two shots from behind the arc, so it's not like he was hurting his team. He shoots the three and is a starting point guard on a team with some talented scorers. He is a going fairly cheap in drafts.

Darren Collison was effective in Tuesday's contest against Barcelona and yielded a line of 14 points (on 5-of-10 shooting), four assists, two steals and three turnovers in 33 minutes.
There really hasn't been any bad news regarding Collison since joining his new team. He is a steal at his current ADP in the early-late rounds of drafts and he'll offer nice upside by running the point for Rick Carlisle's Mavs. Fantasy owners need to keep a close eye on him.

Darren Collison had a nice showing on Saturday with 14 points (on 6-of-9 shooting), nine assists, two steals, a triple and three turnovers in the win over Alba Berlin.
All things are coming up roses for Collison so far with his new team. Coach Rick Carlisle said Collison will have control of the offense right away and his draft value may rise during the preseason.

Rick Carlisle intends to let Darren Collison control the Mavericks' offense right away, with as few set plays called as possible.
"My continuing goal, my ongoing goal is to call less or no plays if we can," Carlisle said. "I think that that's better. We want our guys to make plays, not call plays." With the reins of the offense and a knack for collapsing defenses with his penetration, Collison is a tantalizing fantasy sleeper.

Darren Collison said that he's got a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove himself with the Mavericks.
"Me and O.J., we were talking yesterday about how much we have a chip on our shoulder," he said. "I think that alone is going to give us an extended time here. This is a city and an organization where we want to be." Collison will be replacing Jason Kidd as the starter in Dallas, and he should be a definite improvement. Collison should have no trouble improving on his 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists from last season.

The new Mavs backcourt of Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo plans to take the ball to the rim with much greater frequency than last year's older jump-shooting combo of Jason Kidd and Jason Terry.
Kidd averaged a ridiculously low 0.2 shots at the rim per game last season, with Terry also averaging a well below-average (39th among shooting guards) 1.7 shots at the rim per game. Collison and Mayo will take it to the rack way more this year and will make defenses respect the drive much more than they have in years' past. Expect good numbers from Collison and Mayo this season and both could be nice fantasy sleepers on a rebuilt Dallas team.

The trade sending Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones to the Mavs in exchange for Ian Mahinmi was officially executed on Thursday.
Collison has to hold off challenges from Roddy Beaubois and anybody else the Mavs bring in, but he is the only real point guard on the roster right now. Mahinmi will be a backup in Indy and Jones' future in Dallas is unclear.

The Pacers have agreed to trade PG Darren Collison and SG Dahntay Jones to the Mavericks for C Ian Mahinmi in a sign-and-trade deal.
Mahinmi gets $16 million over four years, the Mavericks get a starting point guard, and the Pacers clear up a logjam at the position. Collison should be a good fit in Dallas, while George Hill is now the starting PG in Indy, with Lance Stephenson set to get a much bigger role this season.
