Collison will come off the bench for Tuesday's matchup with the Pelicans, James Ham of CSN California reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison was largely expected to jump back into the starting lineup after recently completing his eight-game suspension. However, the Kings are slated to keep Ty Lawson as their starting point guard for at least one more game, as it appears they may opt to ease Collison back into the rotation. That said, Lawson has been less than stellar as Collison's fill-in and it wouldn't be surprising if Collison ended up in the starting lineup within a game or two.

Collison is set to make his season debut Tuesday against the Pelicans, Jason Ross of 1140 KHTK in Sacramento reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison was suspended for the first eight games of the season after he was found guilty in September of misdemeanor domestic violence. With the suspension now up, Collison is expected to immediately step in as the starter, unseating veteran Ty Lawson, who's averaged 6.4 points, 6.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game in Collison's stead.

Collison produced 22 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight assists, three rebounds and one block across 28 minutes in Saturday's 124-119 preseason win over the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
Ty Lawson (personal) wasn't available Saturday, so Darren Collison might have benefited from more playing time in the exhibition than he otherwise would have received. Collison is locked in as the Kings' starting point guard, but he'll cede duties on the top unit to Lawson for the first eight games while he serves a suspension. The eight-game banishment should bump Collison's stock down more than it ought to in fantasy drafts, so the point guard makes for a good target in the middle rounds. He's been outstanding while starting the Kings' last two games, as he contributed 20 points and seven assists in the Kings' preceding contest Thursday against the Lakers.

Collison scored 20 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven assists, four rebounds and two steals over 30 minutes in Thursday's 116-104 preseason loss to the Lakers.
EDGE Analysis
Collison continues to alternate starts with Ty Lawson, who'll replace him in the starting lineup for the first eight games of the season while the former serves a suspension. The veteran guard's outing Thursday was particularly encouraging, with Collison effectively feeding his teammates while enjoying a very strong shooting night himself. The eighth-year pro averaged 16.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 34.8 minutes in 45 starts during the 2014-15 campaign, his first in Sacramento, and could realistically approximate those numbers once he enters the starting lineup for good in mid-November.

Collison provided 11 points (4-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and four steals across 16 minutes in Monday's 135-96 victory over Maccabi Haifa.
EDGE Analysis
Although he'll start the regular season by serving an eight-game suspension, Collison is once again the expected starter at point guard after ceding the role last season to Rajon Rondo. The veteran notched a career-low 15 starts in 2015-16, but still managed the second-highest scoring total (14.0 points per game) of his career and played a solid 30 minutes per contest. A 46.8 percent shooter over his seven-year career, Collison should make for a high-usage option on one of the fastest-paced offenses in the league and provide solid numbers across the stat sheet. The UCLA product should also benefit from savvy sharpshooter Arron Afflalo's presence alongside him in the backcourt, although the Kings' attack will inevitably still run primarily through DeMarcus Cousins. Nevertheless, given his previous body of work, which includes a career-high 16.1 points while logging 45 starts in his first Sacramento campaign back in 2014-15, Collison's fantasy prospects shape up nicely once he's able to take the floor this coming season.

Collison said Monday that he will accept his eight-game suspension and is ready to move forward, CSN Bay Area reports. "They did what they had to do," Collison said of the NBA. "I respect (their decision). It's something that you have to do and it's understandable."
EDGE Analysis
The veteran was handed the ban after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a domestic incident with his wife during the offseason. Collison will not appeal the suspension, meaning his first chance to play this season will come on Nov. 8 against the Pelicans. In his absence, Ty Lawson is expected to fill in at point guard, but the expectation is that Collison will be the starter upon his return.

Collison has been suspended for the first eight games of the NBA season, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison reached a plea deal a month ago in his domestic violence case and was able to avoid jail time. After seeing the results of the case, NBA officials have agreed upon their own punishment for Collison, who's now slated to miss the first eight games of the season. With that timeline, Collison is expected to be available come the Kings' matchup with the Pelicans on Nov. 8. However, in his absence, look for Ty Lawson to run with the starters.

Collison reached a plea deal in his domestic violence case Friday, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to the terms of the agreement, Collison will not have to serve any jail time, but he will have to attend "Batterer Treatment" classes and work on community service. Ham notes that the NBA may add additional discipline in the wake of Friday's decision, likely in the form of a suspension. Collison is expected to start this season, but if he is suspended, Ty Lawson could run point for the Kings during the suspension.

Collison's court case for two domestic violence charges is now set to begin Sept. 8, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The court date has been postponed multiple times already, but with the start regular season more than two months away, it's still expected that the case will be heard and a ruling will be made before that time. The NBA will likely won't make a decision on a possible suspension for Collison until the legal process has run its course.

Collison's pending case for two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and domestic battery will be heard in court Aug. 18, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Once the case gets underway, it's unclear how quickly the court will reach a resolution, thereby making it uncertain if or when the NBA will suspend Collison for his involvement in the incident, which occurred back on May 30. Despite his brush with the law, Collison is set to enter the upcoming season as the Kings' starting point guard after the organization let Rajon Rondo leave for the Bulls in free agency. Collison was effective in a sixth man role last season with averages of 14.0 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers and 1.0 steal in 30.0 minutes per game, and the prospect of a full-time starting role in 2016-17 will likely allow him to raise his numbers across the board.
