According to sources within the Kings organization, Collison is still being viewed as the team's starting point guard entering the 2016-17 season, David Aldridge of Turner Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Rajon Rondo joining the Bulls on a two-year pact this offseason and free-agent signing Garrett Temple profiling better as a backup for both guard spots, Collison is top holdover on the roster who is capable of manning the point. He came through with an efficient 2015-16 campaign, averaging 14.0 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 three-pointers and 1.0 steal in 30.0 minutes per game while shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 40.1 percent from three-point range and 85.8 percent from the charity stripe, but a recent incident has cast a dark cloud on those accomplishments. Collison is facing two misdemeanor domestic violence charges stemming from an arrest in late May, which could result in a suspension from the league office. The Kings continue to stand by Collison, but we'll have to wait and see if that changes at all as the legal process plays out and when the NBA subsequently administers discipline.

Collison was charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and domestic battery Friday, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's charges stem from Collison's arrest on May 30 when he was involved in a domestic dispute. Per the Placer County Sherriff's Office, "Deputies found that the woman had visible injuries and they arrested Collison on a charge of domestic violence...He was additionally booked for two misdemeanor warrants." There is no set court date for Collison at this time, but a further update on this case figures to be made available over the coming weeks.

Collison was arrested on a suspected charge of domestic violence Monday, Sean Cunningham of ABC 10 KXTV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison was reportedly booked at the Placer County Jail in Auburn, but with the legal process just beginning, we won't speculate on a potential suspension. However, once the legal ramifications are released, we should know more about how the Kings will proceed with the situation. Collison has one year left on his current contract with the Kings.

Collison (rest) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison and other key players for the Kings will call it a season as the organization will look to get Seth Curry, Ben McLemore, and James Anderson beneficial playing time, while also potentially bolstering their odds for the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery. At 28 years old, Collison still has one year remaining on his current deal with the Kings, and there's the potential for him to be their go-to point guard next season with Rajon Rondo heading into unrestricted free agency this offseason.

Collison will be rested Monday against Phoenix, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collison has played 37 minutes in each of the last two games, but he'll be given the night off as the Kings not-so-quietly attempt to improve their lottery standing. With Rajon Rondo also resting, Seth Curry figures to take on a heavy workload Monday night.

Collison tallied a team-high 27 points (10-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and added eight assists, five rebounds and a steal over 37 minutes in Saturday's 114-112 victory over the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran guard got the starting call once again in place of the resting Rajon Rondo, and as usual, capitalized on the opportunity. It was the second 20-point-plus performance for Collison in the last four games, and he equaled his highest amount of made three-pointers as well. A former quality starter at the point before Rondo arrived in town, the 28-year-old has proven highly capable of multi-category production regardless of when he enters a game. He could conceivably receive starts in Sacramento's final two games if coach George Karl opts to shut Rondo down for the season.

Collison poured in 19 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six assists and two rebounds over 37 minutes in Thursday's 105-97 loss to the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran guard got the starting call again in place of the resting Rajon Rondo, and generated his 14th consecutive double-digit scoring effort. Collison was sharp from the field for the third time in the last four contests as well, and is already averaging a 50 percent success rate with his shooting over the first three games of April. The UCLA product is likely to draw at least one more start in Rondo's stead before season's end.

Collison is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings are opting to rest Rajon Rondo Thursday, which gives Collison the opportunity to move into the starting lineup. In Collison's most recent start Saturday, he saw a whopping 39 minutes, scoring 14 points, to go along with eight assists and four rebounds. He'll likely be counted on for a ton of minutes at point guard again, so look for him to see similar playing time Thursday to what he saw in his last start on Saturday.

Collison will sit out Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers for rest, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings have long been ruled out of the playoffs, so they've decided to rest the likes of Collison, Rudy Gay and Kosta Koufus on Tuesday. With Collison out of the lineup, look for Rajon Rondo, Seth Curry and Ben McLemore to receive the majority of the backcourt minutes. Collison will likely be available for Thursday's matchup with the Timberwolves.

Collison registered 14 points (4-13 FG, 6-7 FT), eight assists and four rebounds over 39 minutes in Saturday's 115-106 victory over the Nuggets.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran guard got the start in place of the resting Rajon Rondo, and although he struggled from the field, he was effective setting up teammates for scoring opportunities. Known more as a shoot-first point guard, Collison has now dished out 10 and eight dimes, respectively, in two of his last three games. While Rondo is expected to return for the Kings' next contest, Collison figures to continue receiving solid minutes off the bench for the balance of the regular season.
