EDGE Analysis
Although he'll start the regular season by serving an eight-game suspension, Collison is once again the expected starter at point guard after ceding the role last season to Rajon Rondo. The veteran notched a career-low 15 starts in 2015-16, but still managed the second-highest scoring total (14.0 points per game) of his career and played a solid 30 minutes per contest. A 46.8 percent shooter over his seven-year career, Collison should make for a high-usage option on one of the fastest-paced offenses in the league and provide solid numbers across the stat sheet. The UCLA product should also benefit from savvy sharpshooter Arron Afflalo's presence alongside him in the backcourt, although the Kings' attack will inevitably still run primarily through DeMarcus Cousins. Nevertheless, given his previous body of work, which includes a career-high 16.1 points while logging 45 starts in his first Sacramento campaign back in 2014-15, Collison's fantasy prospects shape up nicely once he's able to take the floor this coming season.
