Collison said Monday that he will accept his eight-game suspension and is ready to move forward, CSN Bay Area reports. "They did what they had to do," Collison said of the NBA. "I respect (their decision). It's something that you have to do and it's understandable."

The veteran was handed the ban after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a domestic incident with his wife during the offseason. Collison will not appeal the suspension, meaning his first chance to play this season will come on Nov. 8 against the Pelicans. In his absence, Ty Lawson is expected to fill in at point guard, but the expectation is that Collison will be the starter upon his return.
