He'll offer the Heat some much-needed rebounding, defense and energy off the bench, but doesn't present a ton of fantasy value.

Chris Andersen said that he's in "75 percent" basketball shape and anticipates being 100 percent shortly. "My old lady's mom, she cooks some really good fried rice so that helped keep the weight down a lot," Andersen said. "I think that was a big key to trying to stay trim and get ready to play basketball." It's great to have Birdman back in the league for quotes exactly like this, and he could make his debut as soon as Wednesday.

Birdman would have to do something terribly wrong in order to not be signed for the rest of the season following his 10-day trial, and the Heat can really use both his size and rebounding ability the rest of the way.

The Heat will work out free agent PF/C Chris Andersen this week. The Birdman has expressed his "love" for the Heat in the past, and Miami now has two open roster spots and a need for a big man who can rebound. He may well make the team, but he's only worth a look in the deepest of leagues.

The Knicks are not interested in signing Chris Andersen. Andersen lobbied to play in New York, but "the sentiment isn't mutual." He's now been passed over by both Miami and New York after being amnestied by the Nuggets.
