Chris Andersen says he was signed with the purpose of guarding Joakim Noah in case the Heat and Bulls met in the playoffs.
Anderson said he told Noah that in the hallway after the Bulls halted Miami's 27-game win streak in March. If that's the case, Birdman hadn't exactly been doing a stellar job this series prior to Monday's Game 4. Noah, who is playing through plantar fasciitis, was averaging close to a double-double before Monday's six-point, nine-rebound performance that included 1-of-6 shooting from the field. Anderson has been a pretty useful piece for Miami since joining the Heat, but his impact will be limited to energy and defending the opposing team's big man.

Chris Andersen's agent said his client would like to re-sign with the Heat.
What else is he going to say? "We're certainly hopeful," he said. Birdman is playing on a veteran's minimum contract this year, but he should be able to parlay his production in Miami into a greater deal during the offseason.

Chris Andersen hit all four of his shots and finished with 10 points and seven rebounds in Sunday's easy Game 1 win over the Bucks.
Birdman didn't block a shot, but provided energy and offense off the bench. He could be a factor for the Heat all the way through the playoffs.

Chris Andersen made all four field goal attempts for a season-high 15 points with seven boards, one assist and one block in 15 minutes vs. the Bulls on Sunday.
He was flying high and showed a lot of energy on both sides of the court. The Heat picked him up off the scrap heap and he's been a great asset for them to take up space in the paint. Miami might sit their stars again at some point, so some deep-league owners may want to go bird watching in the team's final two games.

Chris Andersen (elbow) played on Friday against the Celtics, scoring four points on 2-of-3 shooting with five rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 19 minutes.
Andersen is worth a look if you're trolling for big man stats, but he'll come with a healthy dose of risk on any given night.

Chris Andersen suffered an elbow injury in Wednesday's win, but he said afterward he'd be fine.
"Ain't nothing wrong with my elbow, I'm from the country," he said. Andersen should be good to go, but we're marking him on the injury report just in case the issue flares up overnight.

Chris Andersen grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds in just 25 minutes as Miami beat the 76ers on Saturday.
The Birdman hadn't grabbed more than eight boards in a game until Friday, but he stepped up tonight with Chris Bosh sidelined, supposedly with a knee injury. Udonis Haslem (10 points in 18 minutes) is also dealing with sore feet and could get some rest in the coming weeks, putting Anderson on the radar in very deep leagues.

Chris Andersen returned from his mid-foot sprain on Thursday and had one point, two boards, one steal and two blocks in 14 minutes against the Bulls.
It was a mild surprise to see Birdman out there after being diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain Wednesday night. He was active in the paint and looked close to 100 percent. There's still no reason to pick him up in almost any league unless you're in dire straits for blocks.

Chris Andersen suffered a mid-foot sprain in Wednesday's game and did not return.
The X-rays were negative, but mid-foot sprains can be dangerous territory. The Birdman failed to score in nine minutes of action and never really had any fantasy value to begin with.
