Miami is not currently interested in signing Chris Andersen.
Although the Birdman would "love to play" for the Heat, the team has decided to pass on him for now. It's conceivable the club could revisit the possibility down the road.

The Knicks could be interested in signing Kenyon Martin, Louis Amundson, D.J. White or Chris Andersen, according to Jared Zwerling of ESPNNY.com
Tyson Chandler has stayed healthy the past two seasons by only missing 12 games. In the two previous seasons, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year missed a combined 74 games. New York also has the oft-injured Marcus Camby behind Chandler and Amare Stoudemire's healthy is a concern, so adding extra depth makes some sense.

In addition to looking at free agent Josh Harrellson, the Heat are also said to be considering F/C Chris Andersen.
Whoever the Heat add at center is likely going to have a back up role behind Joel Anthony and Chris Bosh, but it sounds like Harrellson and Andersen are two leading candidates for a job in Miami.

According to his representatives, unrestricted free agent F/C Chris Andersen has received offers from multiple NBA teams.
His reps say Andersen's offers range between $1.2 to $5 million per season. Considering "Birdman" was amnestied for $4.6 million over each of the next two seasons, the claim that some team is offering him $5 million per season is probably an exaggeration by his agent to drum up interest, since so few teams have that much salary cap space remaining. He had been linked to the Knicks earlier this summer, but they can only offer the veteran's minimum. No matter where he lands, he won't have any fantasy value this season.

Chris Andersen underwent arthroscopic knee surgery "about 4 weeks ago."
Andersen, who was waived by the Nuggets via the amnesty clause in July, will begin light training on Monday and is expected to be "fine" for training camp. Andersen previously hinted that he's willing to sign for the veteran's minimum salary and that he has an interest in signing with the Knicks.

Free agent Chris Andersen is willing to sign for the NBA veteran's minimum.
The Nuggets amnestried the Birdman this summer and it remains to be seen which teams are interested in him, as a legal stormcloud continues to follow him thanks to his involvement in a child exploitation investigation.

Nuggets waived F/C Chris Andersen using the amnesty clause in order to sign PF Anthony Randolph.
Randolph is a lot healthier than Andersen generally is, and also has a boatload of talent that has yet to be harnessed. We're not sure it ever will be, but George Karl will now take a crack at turning Randolph into a focused and consistent NBA player. It's not likely to happen, but if it does, look out.

The Nuggets opted not to waive Chris Andersen, who is still embroiled in a criminal investigation involving child-exploitation.
To be clear, Andersen hasn't been charged with anything and at no point was he arrested -- he claims he was extorted by the family of a young woman who claimed to be of legal age, with whom he had a "flirtatious" relationship. Regardless of his off-court issues, he's little more than bench-padding at this point in his Nuggets career.

The Nuggets are "seriously discussing" whether or not to amnesty Chris Andersen, according to Gery Woelfel.
Woelfel is a beat writer for the Bucks, but he is plugged in around the league and it's not really shocking to learn that the Nuggets are considering using the amnesty clause on Birdman. Andersen was never a part of Denver's attack last season and was excused from the team in May to deal with some very serious issues in his personal life.

Chris Andersen's attorney, Colin Bresee, has stated that the player known as "Birdman," has been targeted as part of an extortion plot by a female fan who was rebuffed by Andersen in 2011.
Bresee released the following statement, "A female fan in 2010 mailed Mr. Andersen multiple letters and included several photos in which she was scantily clad. Chris and this woman communicated with each other and in 2011, this woman, who represented herself as 21 years of age, flew to Colorado, showing her required identification. After leaving Colorado, she became upset at his lack of interest. In 2012, she threatened to retaliate if he did not provide financial remuneration." This helps to explain the recent disturbing child pornography charges brought against Andersen and although the case is still ongoing, it shows a little more into what is going on in the case.
