General manager Jon Daniels indicated Wednesday that Darvish is expected to need Tommy John surgery, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. The Rangers will send Darvish's MRIs to Dr. James Andrews for third opinion, but the first two doctors both recommended Tommy John surgery. If that winds up the case, he will miss the remainder of the 2015 season and likely part of the 2016 season as well due to the injury. The club indicated it would turn to pitchers within the organization to take his spot in the rotation should it be necessary.
