Tyler Skaggs surrendered four runs in five innings Thursday in a loss to the Padres. Skaggs impressed in his first three starts for Arizona, but he's given up 14 runs in 12 innings since, nine of which have come against the mediocre San Diego offense. The Diamondbacks might want to shut him down rather than have him make his last two starts.

Tyler Skaggs had the worst start of his young major-league career in Friday's loss to the Padres, allowing five runs on five hits in just three innings of work. Skaggs fanned five and walked one in a no-decision. His biggest mistake came in the third, where he served up a three-run homer to Chase Headley. Skaggs had previously gone at least five innings and allowed no more than three runs in each of his first three major-league starts. He'll look to get back on track against the Giants next weekend, where he'll be sporting a 4.43 ERA at first pitch.
