Diamondbacks pitching prospect Tyler Skaggs is expected to receive an invite to spring training next season and compete for a spot in the rotation. Given that he's had just eight starts above A-ball, he would probably have to be lights-out in spring training to receive real consideration, but there's no denying Skaggs has had phenomenal year, posting a 2.99 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 180/46 K/BB ratio over 147 1/3 frames between High- and Double-A. The D'Backs could have a few interesting young arms in camp next year competing for rotation spots, with Jarrod Parker and Trevor Bauer also likely on that list.
