O'Neill is a potential trade candidate if the Mariners attempt to bolster their pitching staff prior to the July 31 trade deadline, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging outfielder, who returned from a hamstring injury on July 13 and is hitting .330 with 11 homers and 25 RBI over his last 25 games, could be on the move despite his continued improvement throughout the season. The Mariners have a relative dearth of upper-level prospects, so O'Neill would represent one of the few appealing prospects at the Triple-A level that they'd consider parting with. While the 22-year-old brings plenty of power upside, the emergence of Ben Gamel, Guillermo Heredia and Mitch Haniger has apparently made the idea of parting with O'Neill a bit more palatable to the organization, provided they can get enough pitching value in return.

O'Neill left the first game of Triple-A Tacoma's doubleheader against Sacramento on Saturday with a hamstring injury and remained sidelined Sunday, Bob Dutton of The News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old outfielder has hit .368 with five homers and nine RBI over his last 10 games, so the injury comes at a particularly untimely juncture. On the other hand, the Triple-A All-Star break should give O'Neill time to recover, and he's expected to return for next Thursday's game against Fresno.

O'Neill went 3-for-5 with two home runs for Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday and is hitting .340 with seven homers and 17 RBI over his last 12 games, Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old enjoyed a solid June and has started July off in even stronger fashion, going 5-for-12 with a double, Tuesday's pair of homers, four RBI and four runs in his last three contests. O'Neill is still hitting just .234, but he's raised his average 24 points since June 2 and certainly appears to be finding his footing against Triple-A pitching as the season unfolds.

O'Neill, who's slashed .219/.286/.395 over 57 contests for Triple-A Tacoma, currently has a five-game hitting streak, along with five RBI over his last two games.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old is still striking out too frequently -- as evidenced by his 26.9 percent whiff rate -- but he's also collected 24 extra-base hits (16 doubles, two triples and six home runs) and stolen five bases over 234 plate appearances. O'Neill is currently enjoying one of his more consistent stretches of the season at the plate, as he's gone 6-for-20 with a trio of two-baggers and a grand slam in his last five contests. The outfield remains well-stocked at the major-league level at present, so it appears O'Neill will continue receiving some much-needed seasoning with the Rainiers for the time being.

O'Neill is slashing .183/.254/.330 over 109 at-bats at Triple-A Tacoma.
EDGE Analysis
The highly-regarding prospect has hit the skids for the first time in his exposure to Triple-A pitching, with each component of his slash line currently a career low. O'Neill has compiled nine extra-base hits (five doubles, one triple three home runs) and four stolen bases, but has otherwise struggled while seeing his strikeout rate jump over three percent to 29.4. The 21-year-old has also been a tad on the unlucky side, as his BABIP is down over 120 points over last season to a subpar .243. Given his skill set and the fact that he's never hit below .247 at any minor-league stop, he's likely to make strides as the season unfolds and he further acclimates to his current level of competition.

O'Neill went 2-for-5 with a double, solo home run and two runs in Tacoma's 7-2 victory over El Paso on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill has now hit safely in four of the Rainiers' first five games and already has a pair of round-trippers and four RBI on his ledger. However, he's also struck out at least once in all but one of those games, illustrating the ups and downs of his ongoing development. The 21-year-old impressed in spring training with a .310 average, four doubles, one homer and eight RBI over 29 at-bats, and he's getting his first taste of Triple-A pitching in 2017 after a standout 2016 campaign (24 homers, 102 RBI) at Double-A Jackson.

O'Neill was reassigned to minor league camp Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The Mariners' No. 2 prospect, O'Neill has hit fairly well so far this spring, batting .333 with seven RBI, two doubles and a homer across 24 at-bats. He did, however, whiff 10 times, which hasn't helped his cause. The Canadian will likely open the season with Triple-A Tacoma.

O'Neill went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, another two-bagger and a run in Wednesday's 7-4 Cactus League victory over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill brought home Jay Baum in the sixth with a sharp double to left, bringing his spring average to an even .300 and his RBI total to three. The 21-year-old outfielder is getting his first taste of big league pitching this spring after slashing .293/.374/.508 with 26 doubles, four triples, 24 homers, 102 RBI and 12 stolen bases at Double-A Jackson last season. The powerfully-built O'Neill challenged for the Triple Crown, won the RBI title and earned Southern League MVP honors as well, snagging him the invite to major league camp. Although he's likely to start the 2017 campaign in Triple-A, another effort the caliber of last season's could conceivably earn him a late season cup of coffee with Mariners. "The end game is not Triple-A. The end game is not being the No. 1 prospect in baseball," O'Neill said. "I'm trying to get to the big leagues and be an impact player. That's exactly what I'm going to do."

O'Neill received an invite to big league camp during spring training, The News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
O'Neill enters 2017 as one of Seattle's top two prospects and will be able to use this opportunity to get some valuable experience against big league competition. While it is almost certain that he will begin the season at Triple-A Tacoma, it would not be out of the question for him to earn a major league promotion during the second half of the season, assuming he can continue to show strong signs of development.

O'Neill (back spasms) is back in the lineup for Peoria on Thursday, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
EDGE Analysis
He missed a few days in the Arizona Fall League with back spasms but it was just a brief absence, as expected. O'Neill enters 2017 as the Mariners top prospect and a potential contributor if a need arises in the outfield.
