D'Arnaud (elbow) is unlikely to be available until Tuesday's game against the Phillies, ESPN.com's Adam Rubin reports.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud is still dealing with some bruising on his left elbow after he was struck by a pitch in Saturday's game against the Indians, and the injury will result in him surrendering a start to Kevin Plawecki on Sunday. It sounds like d'Arnaud will remain out for Monday's series opener with the Phillies for precautionary purposes, but manager Terry Collins doesn't seem worried about a potential DL stint for the backstop. At this time, the Mets have no plan to call up a third catcher.

D'Arnaud (elbow) isn't in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud ended up exiting in the seventh inning Saturday's game after being struck in the elbow by a pitch, but it doesn't look like he's dealing with anything more severe than bruising, as X-rays after the game came back negative. Even before suffering the injury, d'Arnaud was scheduled to receive Sunday off in favor of Kevin Plawecki, so his absence doesn't appear particularly worrisome. D'Arnaud could be ready to go as soon as Monday's series opener against the Phillies.

D'Arnaud has been diagnosed with a bruised elbow after being hit by a pitch in Saturday's game against the Indians, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. X-rays taken on d'Arnaud's elbow came back negative.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud was hit on the arm in the seventh inning of Saturday's game against the Indians and was replaced behind the plate by Kevin Plawecki. Fortunately, his elbow is merely bruised and there is no structural damage to the area. That said, the Mets may give d'Arnaud an off day Sunday to give him extra time to recover. If that's the case Sunday, look for Kevin Plawecki to get the start behind the plate for the Mets.

D'Arnaud left Saturday's game in the seventh inning after being hit by a pitch in his second at-bat, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team has yet to announce whether d'Arnaud was removed for precautionary reasons or whether he did suffer an injury after being hit on the arm by a Rafael Montero offering. Regardless, d'Arnaud is done for the day and has been replaced behind the plate by Kevin Plawecki. The Mets will likely release an update on d'Arnaud's status following Saturday's contest.

D'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
D'Arnaud has started each of the first four games of the season for New York, collecting just one base hit in his first 12 at-bats. He'll get a day off to clear his head, with Kevin Plawecki set to replace him and catch Sunday's starter, Matt Harvey.

d'Arnaud failed to reach base (0-for-3) during Monday's game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old is batting .184/.273/.237 this spring with only two extra-base hits and eight RBI. d'Arnaud will look to build upon his 2015 campaign as Opening Day rolls around, as he hit .268/.340/.825 last season. He will most likely split some of his catching duties with Kevin Plawecki throughout the season, but a bigger concern for fantasy owners is d'Arnaud's health. He only played in 67 games last year and has battled injuries throughout his time in the MLB.

D'arnaud will see action at other positions during the spring in an attempt to increase his versatility and potential find a way to get him in the lineup when Kevin Plawecki is behind the plate, the NY Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Those other positions are likely first base and left field, though d'Arnaud main work will come behind the plate. D'Arnaud has suffered a variety of injuries while catching, so moving him out from behind the plate has been discussed for a while. But his bat plays much better as a catcher than at another position.

Mets assistant GM John Ricco said Tuesday that d'Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki could split time at catcher in 2016, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ricco also suggested a position change for d'Arnaud or Plawecki could come down the line, but there is no urgency to move either player out from behind the plate at this point. While d'Arnaud hit 12 homers with an .825 OPS in 2015, he once again missed significant time due to injury, something that's been a recurring theme throughout his young career. Splitting time with Plawecki would theoretically keep both players fresh for the long haul.
