Tim Hudson allowed just an unearned run over seven innings to beat the Nationals on Thursday. It's the third time in four starts and fourth time overall that Hudson has pitched seven innings and not allowed an earned run. He doesn't figure to remain one of baseball's very best pitchers all year long, but nor is he likely to fall apart at any point. He is going to end up making that two-year, $23 million deal he signed with the Giants look like a bargain.

Tim Hudson threw seven shutout innings to help the Giants rout the Cardinals on Sunday in St. Louis. The veteran right-hander was again brilliant, yielding only three hits to the dangerous St. Louis offense over his seven scoreless frames. He struck out six and moved to 6-2 on the year with a 1.75 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 50/8 K/BB ratio in 77 1/3 total innings. Hudson should keep it all rolling next time out against the Mets.

Tim Hudson fired seven shutout innings in a gem of a victory against the Cubs on Tuesday. The veteran allowed six hits, struck out five and didn't issue a walk. Hudson has enjoyed a stellar start to his Giants' career, going 5-2 with a 1.92 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 10 starts. The 38-year-old has only coughed up more than two runs in a start once. Hudson takes on the Cardinals on Sunday.

Tim Hudson allowed one run in three innings Thursday before his start against the Rockies was cut short by rain. Hudson allowed five hits, walked two and hit a batter before exiting, so he was quite the escape artist today and it might have been for the best that the rain halted things when it did. The 38-year-old was making his first start in 11 days after skipping a turn with a strained hip.

Tim Hudson (hip) expects to return to the Giants' starting rotation Thursday against the Rockies. Hudson had to be scratched from his previous turn because of a strained hip, but he threw his entire arsenal in a bullpen session on Tuesday and felt no lingering discomfort. The veteran right-hander boasts a 2.09 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings this season.

Tim Hudson will not start on Friday due to a strained hip. He felt the injury during his last start, which is why he was removed after six innings. The good news is that the Giants are calling the injury mild and saying that Hudson will be ready to go for his next turn. Yusmeiro Petit will start Friday against the Marlins in Hudson's place.

Tim Hudson allowed two runs on eight hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Sunday. Hudson walked one and struck out two in the outing. Despite not earning the win Hudson continues to roll, as he's now turned in five straight starts allowing two runs or fewer. He's got a 2.09 ERA and 0.81 WHIP through eight starts. His next start will come Friday against the Marlins.

Tim Hudson fell to 4-2 on the season as the Pirates walked off 2-1 winners with two outs in the ninth inning on Tuesday. Hudson pitched well, holding the Pirates to one run over eight innings. He took the mound for the ninth and appeared to have everything under control after getting Pedro Alvarez to hit into a double play, erasing a lead-off single. But Starling Marte tripled and scored on Ehire Adrianza's fielding error, helping the Pirates walk off 2-1 winners. In 8 2/3 innings, Hudson allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out five. Hudson still owns an impressive 1.99 ERA and will look to lower it further in his next start on the road against the Dodgers.

Tim Hudson couldn't quite make it the distance in Wednesday's victory over the Padres, striking out six over 8 2/3 innings of two-run ball. Hudson retired the first two batters of the ninth inning with a 3-1 lead, but Yasmani Grandal's solo homer summoned Bruce Bochy, who motioned for Sergio Romo. Hudson has notched four quality starts in five outings as a Giant, and San Francisco is 5-1 in those games. The 38-year-old looks like he'll top the 3.97 ERA and 1.19 WHIP he put up across 131 1/3 innings for the Braves last season. Hudson is 4-1 with a 2.17 ERA and 0.74 WHIP, numbers he'll take into a road matchup against the Pirates next week.

Tim Hudson pitched seven innings of one-run ball to beat the Indians on Friday night. With a strong defense and a pitcher's park helping him, Hudson has simply cruised this season. Even his 2.19 ERA pales in comparison to his ridiculous 0.78 WHIP. The two walks he issued tonight were his first in five starts this season.
