The non-contending Rays are expected to deal Pearce, who will be a free agent this winter, prior to Monday's non-waiver trade deadline, so they'll hold him out of Sunday's lineup as a means of avoiding a late injury that would sink his trade value. With the ability to play both corner outfield spots along with first and second base while providing both power and on-base skills, Pearce should be a fit for a number of different contending clubs.
