Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that Marlins' relievers Steve Cishek and Mike Dunn are being closely watched by scouts. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has reported that Cishek has been a popular name in recent trade talks, but it's unclear whether the Marlins are willing to move him. However, he's making $3.8 million in his first year of arbitration and won't qualify for free agency until after 2017, so he could fetch a big return. The Marlins would like to add a controllable starting pitcher and/or a second baseman, which would be reasonable requests in a Cishek deal. Dunn making $1.4 million in his first year of arbitration and is under team control through 2016.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Marlins closer Steve Cishek has been a very popular name in recent trade talks. The rumblings suggest that the Marlins may be sellers at the trade deadline. If that happens, Cishek would suddenly become one of the top arms available on the market and could fetch a nice return package.

Steve Cishek blew his third save of the season Wednesday in the Marlins' loss to the Diamondbacks. It was an ugly one. The Marlins took a 3-1 lead over Arizona in the top of the 10th inning, but Cishek gave up a walk, two singles, and a game-winning double to Paul Goldschmidt while failing to record an out in the bottom of the 10th. He's already blown two saves this month, but the right-hander's job is probably safe for now.

Steve Cishek blew his second save of the season, allowing two runs in the ninth inning in Thursday's loss to the Phillies. The Marlins had taken a one-run lead with a two-run eighth inning. Cishek walked Tony Gwynn, Jr. to lead off the inning, then allowed a one-out single to Ben Revere. Second baseman Donovan Solano didn't help, making back-to-back poor decisions at second base (though no errors were assigned) resulting in two runs scoring. Cishek is now 4-4 and 18-for-20 in save situations with a 3.22 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and a 44/12 K/BB ratio.

The sidewinding right-hander has been a force to be reckoned with, as he has converted 18 of 19 save opportunities and sports a 1.93 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP, and a 43/9 K/BB ratio.

Steve Cishek converted his sixth save of the season with 1 1/3 scoreless innings as the Marlins defeated the Braves 5-4 on Thursday. Cishek entered the game with runners on the corners and two outs in the eighth inning of a one-run ballgame. After walking Andrelton Simmons to load the bases, Cishek struck out Ramiro Pena to end the threat. Cishek then shut down the Braves' 1-2-3 hitters in short order in the ninth inning to pick up the save. With the exception of his outing on Friday (his first blown save since June 2, 2013), Cishek has been very reliable for the Marlins.

Steve Cishek blew his first save since last June 2 on Friday and took the loss against the Mets. After entering the bottom of the ninth inning with a one-run lead, Cishek gave up a leadoff single to Lucas Duda before Travis d'Arnaud dropped down a sacrifice bunt. Bobby Abreu lined out to left field for the second out of the inning, but Omar Quintanilla followed with a game-tying single. Kirk Nieuwenhuis then delivered a pinch-hit double before Curtis Granderson ended it with a walk-off single to right field. Cishek had converted 33 consecutive saves before Friday's blowup, so we'll chalk this up to an off night.
