Cishek racked up his 32nd save of the season Monday, striking out two Mets during a perfect ninth inning. Cishek capped off a phenomenal 6.2 inning effort from the Miami bullpen Monday, but largely has struggled over the season's second half, posting a 5.84 ERA and .297 BAA in 24.2 innings pitched since June 27. Still, he's been a reasonably effective stopper, converting 14-of-17 save chances over that time and 32-for-36 chances on the year. It has been an up and down year for the closer, but Cishek's grasp on the ninth-inning role remains solid at the moment.

Cishek blew Saturday's save opportunity, giving up a game-tying home run to Corey Dickerson in the ninth inning of the 5-4 loss to the Rockies. Cishek blew his fourth save of the season Saturday, but he's been reliable, having saved 31 out of 35 for the year. He saved his previous 11 prior to Saturday night, and he should have a firm grasp of the closer role for the Marlins.

Cishek struck out a pair during a scoreless inning Saturday to record his 31st save of the season. Cruising through the outing, Cishek was on the mound for the first time since Monday. He should remain the Marlins' closer for the final six weeks of the season, barring a complete collapse down the stretch.

Cishek allowed an RBI triple to Kolten Wong and a run-scoring infield hit to Matt Holiday in his one inning of work. The Marlins' closer has had a rough go of things lately, allowing runs in three of his last four appearances. That being said, he hasn't blown a save since July 9.

Pitching for the third night in a row, Cishek gave up one hit but no runs in the process of getting his 29th save of the season. It looked like Cishek's outing Saturday would be as fitful as his previous two outings, as he gave up a leadoff hit to Chris Heisey. But he subsequently picked Heisey off of first base and then got the next two hitters out.

Cishek picked up his 28th save despite allowing a run on two hits in the ninth inning against the Reds on Friday night. He walked one and struck out one. He came on in a 2-0 game after a brilliant eight innings by starter Nathan Eovaldi and proceeded to make things nerve-wracking. Cishek (28 saves, 3.65 ERA) has been shaky in his last couple of outings but should not be in any danger of losing his job as long as he comes around soon.

Cishek struggled in a non-save situation Thursday, allowing four hits and two runs. Cishek entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Marlins trailing, presumably to get some work, and he was very ineffective. He's been solid in general as Miami's closer, however, and he wasn't dealt at the July trade deadline, meaning he'll continue to collect saves over the last few months.

Steve Cishek allowed a home run but bounced back to preserve the Marlins' 4-2 win over the Astros on Sunday. Cishek allowed a one-out home run by Jon Singleton, just Cishek's second homer allowed all season, but he came back to strike out Carlos Corporan and Robbie Grossman to earn the save. He's now got 26 saves to go with a 3.38 ERA and 1.08 WHIP on the year.

Steve Cishek slammed the door on the Astros on Friday, setting down the side in order in the ninth inning, including a pair of strikeouts. It's the second straight day that Cishek has fired a perfect inning in a save situation, and he has now converted 25 of his 28 chances on the year. There have been some rumblings that he could be made available before the trade deadline, but regardless of what jersey he wears he should remain a very steady source of saves.

Steve Cishek retired the Braves in 1-2-3 fashion as the Marlins won on Thursday. Atypically, all three outs were fly outs. The right-hander has come back from the break with five consecutive scoreless outings after struggling in the few weeks leading up to the break. Cishek is now 24-for-27 in save opportunities with a 3.32 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 51/14 K/BB ratio.
