Greene, who has has missed time this week because of mild back strain, should be available to pitch out of the bullpen Friday, reports MLive.com.
EDGE Analysis
Greene hasn't pitched since Saturday and has downplayed the injury since then. Technically, he's available to pitch Wednesday against Seattle, but Detroit has an off day Thursday. It makes better sense to rest Greene one more day, so he's ready to help them in the race to catch Cleveland in the Central.

Greene has allowed one earned run on six hits while striking out 10 over his last 10.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Greene has a 3.00 ERA since moving to the bullpen full time on June 4. He started three games in April, going 1-2 with an 11.79 ERA before heading to the disabled list with a blistered finger. Upon returning, the righty has pitched in mostly low-leverage situations and early relief out of the Tigers' pen.

Greene has done well as a reliever, recording close to a strikeout per inning (26 in 28.1) while putting up a WHIP of 1.20.
EDGE Analysis
Greene has vultured a few holds and can pitch the seventh. But that's as good as it gets right now for him. Greene's fantasy value is limited unless he sees more work in the eighth inning. And Justin Wilson has a strangle on that gig.

Greene struck out one in a perfect eighth inning Sunday to notch his second hold in as many days as the Tigers downed the White Sox 5-2.
EDGE Analysis
He seems to be settling into his new bullpen role quickly, and given the shaky state of Detroit's bullpen, Greene could quickly find himself as Francisco Rodriguez's primary setup man before too long if he continues to thrive.

Greene (finger) will pitch out of the bullpen now that he has been activated from the disabled list, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Brad Ausmus announced that Greene will work in a lower-leverage role as a reliever, primarily using him in the sixth or seventh innings. Greene owns a 6.28 ERA on the season with 11 strikeouts and nine walks in 14.1 innings of work.

Greene (finger) will be activated from the DL prior to Saturday's game.
EDGE Analysis
With Buck Farmer's demotion to Triple-A on Friday night, the Tigers have already opened up a spot on the 25-man roster. Greene pitched Tuesday at Toledo and went 4.2 innings while make a start, but he'll presumably work out of the bullpen as he's not on regular rest until Sunday, which is Justin Verlander's next scheduled start.

Greene (finger) is expected to make another rehab start at Triple-A Toledo this week, but that plan isn't yet set in stone, ESPN.com's Katie Strang reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers aren't closing the door on Greene coming back from the DL without another rehab start in the event the team suffers an injury to its staff or if the relievers are overworked in the next few days. Assuming that Greene does proceed with his rehab assignment, he'll likely be in line to toss 75 pitches in his next turn with Toledo. After that, Greene would be in line for an activation, but it's not clear if he'd be used as a starter or reliever upon rejoining the Tigers.

Greene's rehab assignment for his injured finger was transferred to Triple-A Toledo, and is scheduled to make a start on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
As expected due to a good showing for Low-A West Michigan, Greene was moved up on Wednesday to the Triple-A level. If all goes well at Toledo, Greene could make it back into the Tigers' pitching rotation around the very end of May.

Greene (finger) will make his next minor league rehab start with Triple-A Toledo, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene had a good outing for Class A West Michigan on Friday, throwing three scoreless innings, and is now ready to make his next rehab start at the Triple-A level. He will likely increase his workload when he takes the mound for Toledo next week and could see another start after that to make sure he's completely healthy. If all goes well in his next one or two appearances, however, the 27-year-old righty could return to the Tigers' rotation before June.

Greene (finger) will begin his rehab assignment Friday at Low-A West Michigan, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Greene landed on the disabled list in late April after developing a blister on his pitching hand, but after ramping up his activity over the past week, he's ready to set out on a rehab assignment. He'll begin at Low-A before presumably moving up another level for another rehab appearance. Once healthy, he could rejoin the Tigers' rotation, which would likely bump young right-hander Michael Fulmer out of the rotation.
