Greene hasn't pitched since Saturday and has downplayed the injury since then. Technically, he's available to pitch Wednesday against Seattle, but Detroit has an off day Thursday. It makes better sense to rest Greene one more day, so he's ready to help them in the race to catch Cleveland in the Central.

Greene has a 3.00 ERA since moving to the bullpen full time on June 4. He started three games in April, going 1-2 with an 11.79 ERA before heading to the disabled list with a blistered finger.
